What is the easiest way to get one?
Only on PBS or GPB?
 other countries have other options?

Is it hard and/ you have to be really lucky to win?

The M&G are a fund raiser for the PBS station.  The price isn't that outrageous when you consider good tickets are about $100 each.  I define good as pit seats.  Over the years some stations do a better job than others.  Some of ithas to do with the venue.  I hzve paid $250 for a PAIR and got front row.  I've paid $400 and sat about 10 rows back.  Some venues hold the good seats for their members.

Typically they limit the m&g to maybe 20 people.

My guess is all the stations are already sold out. My local station has always offered m&g and there are typically 2 venues. They didn't offer any this year.  I tried multiple other locations (Cleveland was one) but they were sold out.

For a couple years I tried to convincemy wife that since I wrote outthe check to PBS, it should be a tax deduction!!

It's luck of the draw if your local station will have one. If there's a nearby show, it's possible, but not guaranteed. I usually have to keep checking PBS stations outside my viewing market and hope I find one close enough before all the tickets are gone. It's only worked twice so far for me.

If you find out when the pledge drives are going to be in advance, you have a much better chance. If you wait until after they've already aired the PBS special, sometimes there will still be tickets left over, but they can go very quickly. Even all 20 non-M+G tickets through my PBS station were gone within 1 hour of the start of the PBS special. Lol.
