I feel like this news is soooooo awesome it needs its own thread.

https://www.facebook.com/celticwoman/posts/10155493732992838

Win a trip to Ireland to see Celtic Woman perform their 'Voices of Angels' show in the 3Arena, Dublin.
Click the link below to enter - you will receive a bonus entry if you share this message with your friends

After the last competition, I decided to read some of the fine print:
https://woobox.com/offers/rules/bmaxsc

Everyone should read the fine print, but here are some key points:
- There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition
- Competition entrants must be 18 years old or more on the date of entering the competition
- The prize consists of a trip to Ireland for two people, to see Celtic Woman perform in the 3Arena, Dublin on 2 September 2017.
- Return flights from the USA to Ireland and two night’s accommodation will be covered by Celtic Woman Ltd. The prize is non-transferable.
- No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. I mean I understand some people just won't be able to go, but come on ... a cash alternative vs a dream come true?
- The winner will be notified by email and/or letter within 14 days of the closing date
- The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material
- The competition will run every week for four weeks beginning Monday 3 July and ending Monday 31 July 2017

Considering I can't absorb the cost of another trip this year, this is pretty much my only chance to go see the DVD recording.

Anyways, good luck everyone!

Well, this is now officially my only foreseeable chance of seeing this concert.

And even if I win it I'm probably still going to feel bad about it because I know that for me to live this dream of mine, I know it would just leave someone else devastated.

I've been going back and looking at some old posts today (I have to migrate some old forum content over to the new forum).

I knew that contest was going to a longshot as there were only 4 winners. But I was kind of heartbroken at the time that I was going to miss another Celtic Woman DVD recording. I actually considered booking a trip to Ireland on short notice just to see the DVD recording and a couple of other things, but there wasn't enough time to do research and scramble something together. It also would have been difficult financially at that particular time.

I'm reminded, as I often am, of a quote from Amy Rivard: "what's yours can't pass you by." It means that what's meant to be will often find a way, sometimes in ways and at times we least expect. Even doors that get slammed in your face may not be closed forever.

Even though I didn't win this contest, it did start a rather important process. It was the first time I actually looked seriously at visiting Ireland. I started thinking about what kinds of things I wanted to see over there and I started wanting to go really badly. That all set the stage for me to be able to put together a 12-day trip on 5 week's notice this year to go see Ireland and to not only finally see Celtic Woman at a DVD recording, but to do so at a beautiful castle in Ireland.
