Oh you have made me very angry, very angry indeed!

Does anyone have the lyrics for this song?! It is literally my favorite off the album and I really want to know the Irish lyrics.

I also don't know if the DVD will have subtitles so I can learn the lyrics.

This is also my favorite song from the CD, and I've been wanting to know the translation! Grin

I really don't understand why they don't include lyrics in the booklets. It would be not only nice, but useful on a cultural level to help people better understand the meaning of the songs, especially the ones that are not in English.

Maybe to keep the booklet a reasonable size and keep costs down.

That's a good reason, but I wouldn't mind reading the lyrics on the website, for instance... They always say it's all about the music, well, let everyone understand what the bl**ody music says  Grin Grin Grin

Yes but the problem is mostly about Gaelic lyrics, which are quite a mystery for the non-traditional songs such as Follow me.

As one of the avenues I'm pursuing on this, I let Celtic Woman's social media team know.

They're aware now that people have interest in having the lyrics posted (particularly the Irish ones) and I relayed the suggestion of the web site.

We'll see what happens with that.

In the meantime, does anyone know anyone that speaks Irish that would be willing to listen to the song and write out the lyrics?

Finally got these lyrics! They are from the Closed Captions from the airing of the PBS special.

FOLLOW ME

MÁIRÉAD
When the crash of the thunder
Is heard on the shore
Wake from your dream
Slumber no more

ÉABHA
When the wild seabirds cry
In the eye of the storm
Come follow me

MEGAN
When the flashes of lightning
Are slashing the sky
Over the tide
Wild horses ride
Over the sea

ÉABHA, MÁIRÉAD & MEGAN
Come follow me

Trasna na dtonnta tagann  (Across the waves it comes)
Manannán mac lir (“son of the sea”  sea god of Irish mythology)
Farraige ‘tá corraithe anocht (The sea is exciting tonight)
Trasna na dtonnta tagann
Manannán mac lir
Eagla ar shaibhir ‘s ar bhocht (It fears rich and poor)

ÉABHA
Can you hear on the air
As you dream without sleep
Over the waves
From caverns deep

MEGAN
Comes the song of the underworld
Land of the sídhe (A supernatural race in Irish mythology)
Under the sea

MÁIRÉAD
I am wind, I am sky
I am calling you home
Over the waves
Over the foam
Come follow me

ÉABHA, MÁIRÉAD & MEGAN
Come follow me

Trasna na dtonnta tagann
Manannán mac lir
Farraige ‘tá corraithe anocht
Trasna na dtonnta tagann
Manannán mac lir
Eagla ar shaibhir ‘s ar bhocht

MALE CHORUS
Groinneall na farraige (seaweed)… the 700th word for seaweed in Irish haha.
Dubhagán na mara (sea dragon)
Groinneall na farraige
Dubhagán na mara
Groinneall na farraige
Dubhagán na mara
Groinneall na farraige
Dubhagán na mara

ÉABHA, MÁIRÉAD & MEGAN
Ó thuaidh ó theas (From north to south)
Soir is siar (East and west)
Saol eile (Another life / Beyond the veil)
Faoi gheasa (Under a spell)

Light of sun
Radiance of moon
Sky, earth, sea
Hear my cry
Carry on the wind
Shield me

Trasna na dtonnta tagann
Manannán mac lir
Farraige ‘tá corraithe anocht
Trasna na dtonnta tagann
Manannán mac lir
Eagla ar shaibhir ‘s ar bhocht

MALE CHORUS
Groinneall na farraige
Dubhagán na mara
Groinneall na farraige
Dubhagán na mara
Groinneall na farraige
Dubhagán na mara
Groinneall na farraige
Dubhagán na mara

ÉABHA, MÁIRÉAD & MEGAN
Ó thuaidh ó theas
Soir is siar
Saol eile
Faoi gheasa
