Hi All,

I have been notified that CW's version of Carol of the Bells from the Christmas cd has been released as a "single" (that is, a cd with one song on it) to radio stations for Christmas play.  That got me thinking, if I had to chose one (and, yes, unfortunately, only one) song from their Christmas cd for radio play this season, what song would I have chosen?  I don't think I would have chosen Carol of the Bells, since I think some other songs bring out their beautiful voices and harmonies more.  Mmmm, a tough one!  I think I would choose O Come All Ye Faithful.  A beautiful version, and their angelic voices really shine through on this one!  (Yes, I know they do on all of them, but for me, this one really stands out!)

How about it -- let's get a fun dialogue going here!  If you could choose only one CW song from their Christmas cd for radio play this Christmas season, what would you choose (keeping in mind that maybe that one song would bring us some new CW fans!!)?

Will there be a consensus???

Mark

That's a tough one! There's 2 I would choose(and no, I can't choose between them! Wink )

Oh, Holy Night...I just get goose bumps every time I hear it.

And, of course, Green the Whole Year Round(no explanation necessary Grin)

I'd have to pick 3.....

Christmas Pipes (that song has great dynamics)
O Holy Night  (brings shivers to my spine)
Green the Whole Year Round  (what a fun, new song)

Now, now...while Green the Whole Year Round is a great song, it's not on their cd, so no choosing that one!

But Green The Whole Year Round is available thru iTunes, so it could be released as a single.

But if its from the CD, then I have 2:

O Holy Night
and Let it Snow <this one shows their fun side and versitlity>

O Holy Night or Christmas Pipes.  Christmas Pipes would probably be a good choice because it's an original.

Since Carol of the Bells is my favorite carol of all time anyway, I'm biased. I think it's a wonderful choice!

But Green the Whole Year Round would be my second chocie. It's not as well known here and could become a new tradition. And, of course, Lisa (*sighs*) sings it!!

I would pick "Christmas Pipes" or "Ding, Dong, Merrily on High".

As of right now there is one station in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA market playing all Christmas music, WLNP Lite 94.3, they also air Delilah(sp).

I believe that this Wednesday, WMGS Magic 93 will also be all Christmas.

I hope they add that ("Carol of the Bells") to their playlist.

That would fit in on the Delilah show. Also some syndicated formats that might be interested are Dial Global's Adult Standards, ABC's Timeless Classics, and Music of Your Life. If anyone has affiliate stations of those syndicated formats in your area, it might be a good idea to call the station or the network and find out if they will play it.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I just gave a listen to "Carol of the Bells" and noticed it only features Mairead and the choir.

One radio station in Chicago, WLIT, has been playing Christmas music since just after Halloween (!!!).  I've listened to it only a little since then (maybe because I usually have my CW cd's going!), but I have not heard Carol of the Bells or any other CW song yet.  Let's hope someone hears some CW Christmas music on the radio soon.  Let us know, okay?

Anyway, keep those votes coming in!  Right now it looks like O Holy Night is the favorite, but it's a close race and we need lots more votes!   Smiley
