I think Mairead should shave her head!
Kidding, just kidding. I swear I was kidding. I was going to give my opinion on whether or not I thought Mairead should cut her hair, but then I realized, that's kind of her call and none of my business.

I was telling my wife about this thread, and she reminded me......... Our first MnG at Myrtle Beach in '05 was done at the time CW was taking photos and posting them on the website. The MnG was with Meav and Mairead, and Mariead stood next to me with her arm around me. When we got back to the hotel, my wife found a long blonde hair on the arm of my sport coat, and jokingly remarked that she would have been jealous if she hadn't known where it came from. Goodness.....I wish I still had that hair!!!!! I didn't know it could be worth so much. I guess that goes in the book with the '57 Chevy convertible I didn't buy for 200 bucks.

$500 for the bow, or for just a 4 inch lock to place inside my violin.

Agreed, but I think she would be amused to see all of us "Fiddle Pixie" fanatics having a bidding war over a lock of her hair....$515

A lock of Maireads' hair is a whole lot more valuable than most of the stuff that passes for a collectible on e-bay. Not one strand of her hair should be shorn for profit. I'm just hoping I can meet her just once and get a gift like JByrd and wind up with a strand of hair on my jacket. No way I'd ever part with that memory for anything. OK, now you guys can go back to bidding .

I don't think Billy was trying to be rude. And given his musical expertise he would know how much violin bows cost. I know the whole bidding thing is a joke, but let's remember that there is no actual lock of hair up for bidding.
