Howdy Abbey, I am Craig Milligan from just south of Des Moines, I am glad to know that there is someone else from Iowa on here. I just got back onto the forum myself, but I used to be on the old forums before they met a pre-mature cyber death.
I was at the Des Moines concert myself on the 14th of November. In case you might be interested....I have self taught myself some of the Irish language and teach a small group of learners in Des Moines and my good friend Wayne Shannon over in the Cedar Rapids area is now teaching a robust group of learners over there. We are always looking for some new victims,er, I mean, students for our groups.
There is also a group of talented musicians that get together once a month in Des Moines and have an old fashion seisiún (tradional Irish music session) at a coffee house. I sometimes bring my bodhrán along and play.
Fáilte! ~Welcome! Craig

Thank you ALL I live in The Quad Cities. It would probably be a 3 or more hour drive for me to go to Des Moines Sorry. I have never seen them . I want to see them so bad but every time that they have come it has been a weekday and weekends would be alot better for me. I Know that they are comming to chicago and maybe then i will be able to afford it.

Welcome, Abby! This is such a warm and welcoming forum, you'll love it here. I never used to post, just lurk in forums. But they brought me out of my shell. Have fun, and hopefully you'll get to see CW in person! - Tony

Welcome to the forum, Abbey, I believe you'll find a friendly group of people here.
My brother just moved to Council Bluff a couple of months ago. He lived in Georgia for a few years so now he's having to adjust to driving in the snow again.
