I was doing some cleaning tonight and was attempting to make sense of a mountain of assorted papers and stuff (.....you know, if ever there were to be a picture in the dictionary next to the word 'pack rat', I swear it would almost certainly be me; I hang on to more 'stuff' than just about anyone I know...) So I came across this quote that I had copied on the back of a receipt from my trip to Red Rocks last year. I had gone and had seen the concert, then went back the next day just before I left to get pictures and to sight see just a bit around the amphitheatre and park.  Among some of the things I saw in the Visitor's Center was a picture of a woman and a man with a violin. Next to the picture was this caption that I thought quite fitting for those of us who are CW fans, especially for those of us who have seen CW at Red Rocks firsthand:

"Opera star Mary Garden and violin accompanist, Signor Tibaldi, arrived by burro to test the amphitheatre's acoustics in 1911. Later she wrote that 'never in any opera house the world over have I found more perfect acoustic properties....I predict that someday 20,000 people will assemble there to listen to the world's greatest masterpieces."

Indeed, Miz Garden....you couldn't have been more right....

[Mod, if I had posted this previously, then feel free to dispose of this. Just wanted to make sure I put it up somewhere before I tossed the physical copy out.]

I saw that quote too, and of course she must have meant Celtic Woman!   Grin
