Jonas got me to thinking (always a hazardous occupation) about a song I would like to hear by CW. Dust In The Wind by Kansas is an old favorite of mine. I can imagine possibilities for the arrangement, and for the violin interlude. It has been done a lot in the last 30 years, but still is popular. The Kansas link below has 2.5 million hits in the past 7 months. Oh, and Sarah Brightman had it on an album about 10 tears ago. To see a world in a grain of sand, And a Heaven in a wild flower, Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand, And Eternity in an hour. William Blake How does Mairead hold my Heart in her hands when she touches bow to strings, And Orla reach my Soul when she strokes her harp and sings? 2B0B

I love Sarah Brightman's version. That's one of my favourite songs of hers! I would love to hear CW sing it.

When you think of me sing a heart-spun song When it's over, sing it once more. When you dream of me dream when I'll meet you on that distant shore.

Kim's right.
Do you have a keycode for this song?

I don't understand the question, KAJ and Jonas. What exactly is a keycode? Please elaborate, and use easy words and concepts. It has been more than 3 decades since I played any instrument.( note there's no smiley with a long gray beard & I could really use one!) Thanks in advance, for the enlightenment to come. 2B

A keycode is basically when you write out the lyrics as they would be sung. You would assign colors to each member of CW and then if, for example, Lisa sang one line and her color was green you'd type the lyrics she'd sing in green. Does that make sense?

I think I've got a plan. Go type "Dust In The Wind" on Google to see the lyrics, copy them, and paste them right into this forum, so you can use the keycode.

I absolutely love that song!!! I had that Kansas album and it was one of the pieces I sang in college for my final in vocals. I also sand "Fire and rain", the James Taylor piece. You are right 2BOB, CW would do a great job with this song and there are perfect places for Mairead to do fiddle breaks. Great idea!

That was also my favorite song, back in the day. It was also the first (and just about the last, LOL) that I learned to play on the guitar. I'd love to hear the girls sing it.

Target this: I close my eyes Only for a moment and the moment's gone All my dreams Pass before my eyes in curiosity Dust in the wind All they are is dust in the wind Same old song Just a drop of water in an endless sea All we do Crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see Dust in the wind All we are is dust in the wind Don't hang on Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky It slips away And all your money won't another minute buy Dust in the wind All we are is dust in the wind Dust in the wind Everything is dust in the wind Don't forget to use the colors.

Well folks, I don't know how well this will work. I found an additional link for an old Kansas Concert that is more what I had in mind. The studio version runs 3:22 and the focus is on the solo. The concert version runs 5:10 with a complex duet, harmonies, and extended Instrumental intro and playout. Here's the link, please listen to it. KANSAS - 1982 Vinyl Confessions Tour Concert http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuklU__vvawKAJ, I hope this looks OK, but just now realized I didn't include everyone. I'm sorry it took me so long to figure out the sounds and voices.
