When Orla does her bow/curtsy, for example, at the end of ..."Newgrange" ... on the ... "Live At Slane Castle" ... DVD ... that is just .......... perfection!! I think that's just 100% beauty and grace and elegance and sophistication and ... appreciation. That's a perfect example of Orla's perfect bow/curtsy.

... Bill

Orla is the perfect example of a true lady.    With her angelic voice and her elegant beauty, I think thats why so many of us fell in love with her.

Replying to this topic is like traversing a minefield. If you’re careful you live another day. If you’re reckless you’re, justifiably, dead. I was reckless once. I loath the thought of being a chicken so will opt for careful.

Perhaps what’s being struggled with here is the staring ladies are preserving their individual traits within the broader context of exhibiting classic femininity and virtue on a scale that is, seemingly, forgotten in our crude times. Ms. Fallon exhibits, no, fills the stage with this classic femininity and virtue in a way that some of us recognize as particularly beautiful. Along with her incomparable talents it further contributes to who she is as a remarkable performer of high art. The best part is these attributes are clearly unscripted and un-staged. I’m convinced what we hear and see is who she- and they are.

It is our good fortune that the brilliant CW organizers knew of this and invited Ms. Fallon on board along with the others.

I too have noticed the unique mannerisms and movements of Ms. Fallon written of in this topic. Her technical qualities as a vocalist and a harpist have been confirmed a hundredfold for me by people far more knowledgeable of such things (including her attention to the all important timing).

Her other high qualities- well they are simply and wonderfully subjective. What I can honestly say is, Even if I were 100% blind I would love what she, and they, do none-the-less.

This thread has been around for awhile, but I just want to add my two cents.  I love every bow that Orlagh gives and after the "bow" that I think got this thread started, she has the most joyous, glorious smile.  Each time I watch the DVD, and see that smiile, I can't help but smile back.  And I feel so happy that she looks so happy and heavenly.  She always looks like she is having a good time.

However she bows, she is an extremely gracefull, classy Lady, as we all agree. Wink
Orla also moves her left arm in time to the music most of the time...which I expect may be a result of so many years of playing the harp, and also when she is soloing, I think so David can follow her tempo.
To be sure each of the Ladies has their own uniqueness..which, according to David's Downes' interviews, is something they sought to preserve.
I find it interesting to watch how their interactions on stage with each other and their surroundings has evolved. They are obviously more comfotable as time goes on.

And yes I totally agree about her smile...

I think her compassion for her fans is such that she would smile for us regardless of how ill or exhausted she might be on a given occasion.  We know that and we love her for it.  Kiss
