I think all of us want to hear that song by Susan. Here is the version I'd love to hear, wich is, in fact, a group song, with Susan singing the main parts. It is basicially the second act version (I like it better than act one or the non-musical version), with some tiny changes.
Máiréad N enters the stage in the middle, fiddling a very short medley of the basic Jellicle melodies, then a short version The Moments Of Happiness
Lisa Lambe enters the stage (on the lest side), singing Moonlight Turn your face to the moonlight Let your memory lead you Open up, enter in If you find there the meaning of what happiness is Then a new life will begin
Máiréad starts to fiddle again, this time the melody of Memory, as a short intro
Mairéad Carlin enters the stage (on the right side), singing Daylight, see the dew on the sunflower And a rose that is fading Roses wither away Like the sunflower I yearn to turn my face to the dawn I am waiting for the day
Mái N goes to the background she and Susan are nodding to each other, while Susan goes to the middle of the stages, everyone is focused on her, and she starts to sing Memory, turn your face to the moonlight Let your memory lead you Open up, enter in If you find there the meaning of what happiness is Then a new life will begin
Memory, all alone in the moonlight I can smile at the old days I was beautiful then I remember the time I knew what happiness was Let the memory live again
Burnt out ends of smokey days The stale cold smell of morning The street lamp dies, another night is over Another day is dawning
Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise I must think of a new life And I mustn`t give in When the dawn comes tonight will be a memory too And a new day will begin
Máiréad N then starts to fiddle again, a little closer to Susan and Lisa L and Mairéad C now start to sing Sunlight, through the trees in summer Endless masquerading
Susan is joining them in Like a flower as the dawn is breaking
and sings alone The memory is fading
Touch me, it`s so easy to leave me All alone with the memory Of my days in the sun If you touch me you`ll understand what happiness is
All sing together (with Máiréad fiddling) Look, a new day has begun
So, what do you think about it? I can totally see Lisa and Mai sing these parts, with their high, sweet voices. But even though it's basicially the same role, I think Lisa is more a Jemima-type and Mai more a Sillabub-type...
