Hehe. It would have been funnier if it was the first time I'd been asked that today.
Canada's got lots of hugs to share.
Before I start rambling, I'm going to try to keep this politically neutral. I hope I succeed.
I know a lot of people are scared (I'm one of them).
Mostly, I'm sad by how much hate this has stirred up. Both sides have radically different views and defend / express them passionately. But this has gone way beyond differences in political views. Both candidates deeply offended a lot of people and both sides. All views on policies aside, I'm really worried about the social consequences of this election.
The nature of politics will always tend to.create division more than unity. Politicians can't bring the country together (not without an immanent external threat). My hope is that the American people will come together on their own and heal the country's deep wounds.
The protests aren't an encouraging start, but I suppose people need to get some things out of their system peacefully. People have every right to express their opinion as long as it's constructive.
I hope that people will rally together for the country, even if they disapprove of particular individuals.
I hope that people will stand up for their views but also be respectful of the views of others. Let's find the best of both worlds and get through this together.

I'm literally traumatized out of my mind by those two songs. I have no idea what's happening right now but this is really bad.

Some people just don't understand what it's like sometimes. They can't if they haven't been there. But NOBODY, whether they understand or not, has the right to say things like that to you.
