Come to the famous Roy Thomson Hall on June 20 for the Ireland Park Foundation Concert Benefit Gala. Deirdre and the Celtic Tenors will be appearing and performing in a large commissioned work called the 'Famine Remembrance' written by fellow Irishman Patrick Cassidy. The work honors the sacrifices made by the 38,000 Irish Immigrants who traveled to Toronto during the famine in the summer of 1847. It tells the story of a destitute people overcoming unimaginable hardship and suffering, and speaks to the kindness and generosity of Canadians.
The headliner for the event is the wonderful Loreena McKennitt.
