I checked the pads and rotors on my wife's sable yesterday, and the wheel studs have a long lead, and once tightened there are no threads showing! Much different on my Dodges. Really quick to change wheels on her car...hard to get a nut cross threaded. I know NASCAR wants a thread showing, but they left one off his right front..amazing something so minor can have such consequences. It's not as easy as many think it is!!

The Nationwide series race at Talladega is about to start! Ryan Newmen is on pole for the race today, It would be cool to see him win today in Harvick's car, lol

Talladega Speedway I have been to the races there over 8 times. I was at the race that changed the whole complection of NASCAR. I was there when Bobby Allison' s car hit the fence.

That's true it was that crash that started Restrictor plate racing,

they did run a Daytona 500 in 1971 with a Restrictor plate. It must have been great to have witnessed the cars run before them!

I will never forget that day. Allisons car took out nine of the poles that held up the fence. There were no major injuries to the fans, I think there was an eye injury that was the most serious. But the fence did it's job, the car stayed on the track. Fro those of you that haven't seen the fence. The fence has three very thick cables that run the length of the whole speedway. Those cables kept the car from going into the crowd. Remember the cars weigh 3200 pounds!

This race will be interesting now, alot of the usual front runners are out of contention.

Right - but Jr., JJ, Burton and some other top drivers are still there - and, there is a LONG way to go to the flag.

Look's like Kurt liked Mikey's line through the tri-oval and tried it himself, lol.

Junior has the lead now.  How about Jeff Burton?  He must have a fast car.
