And Jimmie and Chad didn't learn anything last time they were in Michigan.

Congrats to former team owner, Ray Evernham and sprint car driver, Erin Crocker as they got married on Wednesday night in Las Vegas. Cute couple if I do say so!

Jimmie is still 2nd in the standings and they are getting close to the last ten races to decide the overall winner. He is the three time champion and should never be counted out.

Jimmie will be starting the chase in 3rd if the standing stays the way it is now and if Kyle makes it he'll start 4th since they add 10 bonus points for every win at the start of the chase. That's the one thing about the chase I don't like. They should give 10 points to the winner for every race of the season that way every one in the chase starts with a clean slate.

Marcos Ambrose is leading in the Nationwide race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Rains moving in and could change things if they go to the wet tires...

What a race! Congrats to Carl Edwards, a great win for him. Feel bad for Ambrose though, He wanted to win there so much and it slipped out on the last corner...

Only 2 races left until the chase. As of right now Stewart's locked in to the chase and Johnson and Gordon just have to start Atlanta and Richmond to lock in. Hamlin, Edwards and Kurt Busch are not locked in but are not in danger of falling out this weekend. For 7th through 13th only 84 points separate them from being on the outside looking in for the chase with Matt Kenseth sitting on the bubble. Right now 13th through 16th have a shot to make it in only Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers are with in striking distance to make it in this weekend. It's looking to be quite a exciting 2 weeks for Nascar fans Grin

Looks like Danica Patrick could be coming to NASCAR next year! Wink

Quote
Danica to NASCAR in 2010 but not leaving IRL: Danica Patrick will "all but certainly" be in NASCAR in 2010, but won't give up Indy car racing and will limit next year's activity to the Nationwide Series and Trucks, according to a source very close to the situation. Tony Stewart is the "star candidate" to be her partner and mentor in NASCAR, the source said, adding that Patrick's recent visits to Stewart-Haas Racing were much more than social -- that she and Stewart were discussing a deal, and are close to one. The plan is for Patrick to run a significant number of Nationwide races, with additional seat time in Trucks and ARCA cars. Stewart took a similar transitional path to NASCAR in 1998, running a full Indy car schedule and also 22 Nationwide (then Busch) races. Patrick's likeliest first stock car race would be the ARCA event at Daytona during SpeedWeeks next February. Because Stewart's team has neither Nationwide cars nor trucks in its stable, a third partner will be brought into the mix, the source said -- possibly Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s JR Motorsports, or, more likely, Kevin Harvick Inc., which fields both Trucks and Nationwide cars. Patrick is close to signing a contract renewal with Andretti Green Racing for Indy cars, the source said, but it's not a done deal yet. Sponsorship is not considered an issue for America's top female driver, and the first car manufacturer to sign Patrick to a NASCAR deal would get a big boost in brand exposure.(ESPN)(9-6-2009)

Congrats to Kasey Kahne on the win Sunday night. I was surprised that Jimmie, Kyle, and Carl all had bad nights! Richmond will be very interesting this Saturday night!

Time is dwindling. Looks like about 10 drivers going for 8 spots. Brian Vickers and Kyle Busch starting 6th and 8th respectively, with Biffle and Kenseth starting 24th and 28th. It should be a fun evening.

Chase Clinch Scenarios For Richmond: Eight spots remain in the 2009 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and 11 drivers are mathematically in contention for securing one. Below are the clinch scenarios for Richmond, the final race before the Chase field is set:
#99-Carl Edwards is currently 105 points ahead of 13th place.
Regardless of any other driver's finish, he will clinch if he finishes:
24th or better
25th and leads at least one lap or
27th and leads most laps.
#9-Kasey Kahne is currently 96 points ahead of 13th place.
Regardless of any other driver's finish, he will clinch if he finishes:
21st or better
23rd and leads at least one lap or
24th and leads most laps.
#2-Kurt Busch is currently 95 points ahead of 13th place.
Regardless of any other driver's finish, he will clinch if he finishes:
20th or better
22nd and leads at least one lap or
24th and leads most laps.
#42-Juan Pablo Montoya is currently 88 points ahead of 13th place.
Regardless of any other driver's finish, he will clinch if he finishes:
18th or better
20th and leads at least one lap or
21st and leads the most laps.
#39-Ryan Newman is currently 81 points ahead of 13th place.
Regardless of any other driver's finish, he will clinch if he finishes:
16th or better
17th and leads at least one lap or
19th and leads the most laps.
#5-Mark Martin is currently 69 points ahead of 13th place.
Regardless of any other driver's finish, he will clinch if he finishes:
12th or better
14th and leads at least one lap or
15th and leads the most laps.
#16-Greg Biffle is currently 68 points ahead of 13th place.
Regardless of any other driver's finish, he will clinch if he finishes:
11th or better
13th and leads at least one lap or
15th and leads the most laps.
#17-Matt Kenseth is currently 20 points ahead of 13th place.
Regardless of any other driver's finish, he will clinch if he finishes:
Second and leads at least one lap.
Third and leads the most laps.
#83-Brian Vickers currently sits 13th, 17 points ahead of #18-Kyle Busch. He would need to gain 21 points on Kenseth and stay ahead of Busch to clinch a Chase spot. Busch, 37 points behind 12th, needs to gain 17 points on Vickers and 37 points on Kenseth to clinch. #00-David Reutimann, 132 points behind Kenseth, has an outside shot at clinching. He would have to gain 133 points on Kenseth. A maximum of 161 points can be made up in a given race.(NASCAR Public Relations)(9-7-2009)

They had a little rain delay going on due to a shower moving through. Should be going green at the top of the hour.

So far Matt Kenseth has been struggling and Vickers is currently in the Chase.
