Hughie Translation

This is a long shot, but we had a thread by this same title on the old, old Orlagh forum.  Did anyone happen to save a copy of it?  I'm kicking myself that I didn't save a copy of the translation that Robbie worked so hard on.  This is such a beautiful song!

Kell...you can kick me too! Cause you know that's a fav of mine also..I once thought about contacting the Duggans to see if they'd provide the translation..then Robbie posted it, so I didn't need too....guess I'll have to do some hunting!
I'll see what I can find out.

I got both the original language and the translation!..now if I can just figure out how to get my computer to do those things over the letters...

As I said in my previous post..I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my dear friend in Ireland who sent me this...(In case she's reading  , " Grá Go Deo" my friend, my heart lies in the Emerald Isle, until we meet again.)

Thanks Kell..my friend is very glad she made you happy! (all I did was try to write it down over the phone! It was, to say the least, an interesting conversation! )

Oddly enough Gary, I understand what you mean..my friend said that if I understood the original language, the Lyrics actually make more sense. Some things don't translate all that well to English apparently.
I think the song is more about a remeberance of times with the family pet, than actually about the pet.

I think you're right Zee, I recall that also....really the song could pertain to any number of things!

But at least it's Orlagh's beautifull voice..gotta Love that woman's talents!
