Did you guys know that Sharon Browne ( Who is no longer with Celtic Woman) and Phil Coulter are forming a group called Celtic Man? I found out about it a month after auditions were due. I was so upset!!! I wished I could have sent in an audition tape!! They have not decided for sure who this group will be comprised of but I'm sure it will be amazing. I am very excited to see what comes out of this!!

It will be interesting to see if something like this can be purposely orchestrated. The magic of Celtic Woman just sort of happened. Not that I would mind seeing it, CW isn't just a formula.

good point, Celtic Woman was, after all, just supposed to be a one-night show.

I remember telling my wife that David Downes is a genius. I don't know all the details, but it sounded like he hand picked the girls, knowing what he wanted to do, and how it should sound. If true, unless he or an equivalently talented person can put it together, it won't last. CW just might be that once in a lifetime achievement.
And I'm glad it was during my lifetime.

I think this project could go either way - it really depends on if they don't try to follow a "formula" and make it like Celtic Woman.  If they stay original, it could turn out all right.  I'm going to postpone judgment until I see more, I think, but I dunno.

Don't know how this will turn out but it definitely got my attention.  Something new to look forward to, how cool!!  Pianoman, thank you for posting this and Siobhan thank you for posting the link.  I guess we'll all just have to wait and see. Roll Eyes

P.S.  And if they want any advice (and I'm sure they don't) I can think of a wonderful lineup.....

Cillian Murphy, Ciaran Brennan, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Colin Farrel.  Any other suggestions??? Wink

LOL! that's a nice line up!  Grin I'm extatic to see how they will sound. I tried to send in a late audition but it didn't work to well... Sad my dream has passed me up.

a couple of weeks ago I asked Orlagh if she knew anything about this project and she told me that she had heard someone mention it, but she does not know too much about it. She said this will be a new departure for Sharon Browne... so I suppose we shall all wait with baited breath, or at least i will!
