One of the things that came out of our anniversary chat the past weekend was a request that we do more chats on Saturday afternoons (at least, afternoon in the US) so that our non-US members can join in. This is an excellent idea and one that Rich and I are more then happy to put into practice. So on the first Saturday of every month we're going to hold chats at 3pm Eastern, 8pm GMT.

These chats will function just like our Friday Night Chats so I'm just going to copy and paste most of that instructional post from there to here with a few adjustments being made.

The first Saturday afternoon chat will be this coming Saturday, April 4. What we watch or listen to will be up to you all. For the month in between the chats we're going to take suggestions as to which CD/DVD we chat about. Nominations can be entered as soon as the chat for that month is over. It can be any CW or THK CD/DVD, any group members solo CDs/DVDs, or any DVD wherein a group member participated (like Deirdre and Máiréad on the Celtic Tenors DVD).

The standard chat rules apply:
  • No spoilers! I know that some will have watched/heard the DVD/CD before the chat, but some people won't and would liked to be surprised.
  • Stay on topic. The chat is about the DVD, if you just want to talk about anything the main room of the chat will be open and you can do so there.
  • Remember, the forum rules also apply in the chat so please be respectful.

The chat will start at 3pm Eastern, 8pm GMT, and we'll actually start the CD/DVD  fifteen minutes after the hour.

As far as suggestions, let's try to keep at least 6 months between uses. In other words, a DVD that's already been watched won't be up for consideration until six months have passed since the last time we watched it. In order to help with that I'll keep a list here with dates.

Our European friends really contribute a lot to making this the great community it is so this is a wonderful opportunity to give something back to them. I'm really glad Linde thought of it. Way to go, Linde!  Wink

It went really well, around 10 people showed up.... some of whom were watching the show on YouTube!

I missed the one yesterday because I had a birthday party. I hope I wont misse the next one but not sure i might be at the orchestra performance of Fiddle_Addict with het Edinburgh orchestra in Amsterdam. So not sure.
