Her correct name is Órlagh.  She signs it that way.  She uses the shortened form as sort of a stage name, probably because she got tired of Americans mispronouncing it.

I can relate to the mispronuncation of her name.

That is why I shortened mine from Melanie to Mel.

As much as love shorter names, for some reason I just use Orlagh because at one time I think she said she rather spell it that way. When I type Orla, it doesn't 'feel' right  Wink

Orla is a very nice name, and it's very cool and smart to use a 4 letter shortened version of a longer name. Several great examples...Mike for Michael, Rich for Richard,  Alex for Alexandra, Dave for David Cheesy  Also there are very cool 4 letter first names like, Lisa, Lynn, Meav,  Cheesy. Plus, some people might try to use the 'g' sound if its Orlagh and mess up the pronunciation. I would guess that most people say Orla in a correct way.
