'Time. Time is an artificial construct. An arbitrary system based on the idea that events occur in a linear direction at all times.' Sounds like Dr. House, doesn't it? It's actually from the Oblivion expansion pack, Shivering Isles. A guy who's been sitting in an old ruin for so long, he's gone a little crazy. Now that sounds like House. Tongue

Time is an artificial construct. An arbitrary system based on the idea that events occur in a linear direction at all times.
Used for scheduling (i.e. the CW concert is Wed at 8pm) counting (i.e. college took 7 years to complete, the CW tour took 6 months to complete) definitions / designations (a minor is someone under 18, one can drink alcohol when over 21). So yes it is artificial, BUT...
we have proved a connection between the strength of gravity and how fast time passes. Someone in space, a no gravity environment ages slightly slower than someone on earth. The difference is effectively 0 unless we talk big time gravity. BUT, what if we have negative gravity? Can we have negative time? Dare I mention star trek <ducks for cover fast>

Hey I'll just post the smoothie recipe on here... I've got to keep posting!!!  Wink

I just kind of made it up as I went, with a basic idea in mind. It turned out to be pretty darn good!!

Ingredients:

Orange Sherbet
Frozen Raspberries
Grape Juice

1. Combine as much or as little of the Sherbet and Raspberries you want in a blender. The blending process is kind of difficult if you have a sucky blender like I do.
2. Add a splash of grape juice, and mix that up with the berries and sherbet.
3. I had a problem with the mixture being too thick, so I put a smaller scoop of sherbet in a container and microwaved it just enough to melt it, but not make it hot. I poured this into the blender with everything else, and it gave it a more smoothie-like consistancy.
4. Pour into a glass and enjoy  Smiley

Did college really take you 7 years?

Thats an old joke from the movie "animal house" john belushi's character, after being expelled from college, states "7 years down the drain" also, in the movie "caddy shack" the golf club's assistant groundskeeper, played by bill murray, states that "7 years thats my goal" on becoming head groundskeeper.

So I still don't think anything is wrong with 7.  I went 6 full years and 2 full summer sessions, so technically it was 7.  It was done in a 8 year period though because I took a year off.  I just have to say that only taking 12 hours at a time is good at the time but will take forever in the long run.  And Changing your minor the year before you graduate doesn't help either. P.S. By the way... i LOVE the princess bride!!! When i was in 5th grade, my teacher and i looked up the script for it... we still quote it to each other whenever we can!! Grin Grin

You should read the book.  The lines from the movie pretty much come word for word from the book.

"Fezzik, are there rocks ahead?"
"If there are, we'll all be dead."

"No more rhymes now, I mean it!"
"Anybody want a peanut?"
