I was just watching our local news and they had a commercial for the CW concert coming soon and showed a few seconds of Lisa singing The Voice and a few seconds of the group in their new gowns.

So, random thing I found out tonight (well, partially). I had been told previously that my parents tried to get me to play a violin at a young age, and that I got as far as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" before deciding it wasn't really my thing (sad, given how much I love violin music now). They still have that tiny violin.
Anyway, after visiting my parents and helping them move some furniture, I asked about that violin and how old I was when they tried to teach me. I was thinking maybe 4. Nope, apparently they tried to start me at age 2 (no wonder I have no recollection of it!). I can't recall the theorist's name*, but apparently that's the age when children are most receptive to specialized instruction... this is often used in music.
* = Mom tells me it's the Suzuki Method.
*shrug* News to me. Thought I'd share.
