That just brought back a funny memory.
When I lived in Reno, a bunch of us had a weekly pool on the NFL games. We each put in a few bucks every week, and then picked the teams we thought were going to win that week. It was a winner-take-all pool, with the person who had the best record at the end of the season taking home ALL the dough. There were quite a few of us in it, so the grand total, if memory serves, was several thousand dollars.
Well, every week all of the "experts" would go through the entire schedule and analyze it with great care. We'd look at matchups, injury reports - anything that might give us a slight edge. Lo and behold, at the end of the season, the big winner was the wife of one of the guys in the pool. When we asked her what her "system" was, she explained, "Well, a Lion is definitely tougher than a Ram, and a Bear could certainly beat up a Colt, and I
ADORE the Bengals' uniforms, and Joe Montana is so
CUTE....................."
So much for the "experts."
