Could anyone tell me which Anuna albums Meav, Orla, and Deirdre sang in? You would have to know when they were members, and see whether any CDs were made during that time. I have 4 Anúna CDs, neither Órla nor Deirdre are listed on any of them, so they may have just performed live and not on any CDs. Anúna is not about the individual singers, it is about the entire Choir. There have been around 200 members in their 22 year history. Méav was with Anúna from 1994 to 1998. She has a CD "Celtic Dreams" of all her songs with Anúna: Lynn features on Invocation, Behind the Closed Eye, Sensation & Winter Songs. Here's the timeline of their CDs: Anúna (1993) Invocation (1994) Omnis (1995) Deep Dead Blue (1996) Behind the Closed Eye (1997) Cynara (2000) Winter Songs (2002) The Best of Anúna (2005) Sensation (2006) Christmas Memories (2008) Sanctus (provisional title) (2009) Méav to the left of Michael McGlynn: Lynn at the back, by Powerscourt waterfall:

Deirdre had one solo on the original "Behind The Closed Eye" album but the album was re-recorded and to get the version featuring her is very hard.

Anúna has a fada over the 'u', so it is pronounced A-noo-na. The fada has the effect of lengthening the vowel, if it's over an 'a' it sounds like aw, as in bodhrán (bow-rawn)

Could anyone tell me which Anuna albums Meav, Orla, and Deirdre sang in? Brian Dunphy of the High Kings, and his wife Ann Myler (CW chorus) were both in Anúna. There is a photo of them performing with Anúna in Brian's section of the High Kings Forum. Maggie, not being picky, but I was corrected by Anuna a while back for saying Ann Myler had been in Anuna: "Re: Ann Myler-Dunphy November 29, 2007, 04:09PM » ...has never been in Anuna. I can assure you of that. We have no record of her. It isn't uncommon for people that "sang" in the Riverdance Singers to say they were in Anuna. The Anuna Office" Their response was to my quoting the same article on the "Girl Talk" site. I don't know if anything has changed since that time. Jack

My only excuse is.....it was 4:50am!!! Glad you were paying attention I've taken that bit out of my post.

Their response was to my quoting the same article on the "Girl Talk" site. I don't know if anything has changed since that time. Jack I wonder if it's because she was just Ann Myler then. It's quite a puzzle, because that photo I used was from Celtic Café archives, and definitely said it was Brian 5th from the left, and Ann on the far right. You can see that on the bottom right of this page: http://www.celticcafe.com/archive/Music/Londra/Anúna was in the very first performance of Riverdance in the Eurovision Song Contest, and remained the Riverdance "choir" until 1996. Here is the quote from the Girl-Talk site: ".....Ann, is the newest member of Girl-Talk but is by no means new to entertainment! A former Billie Barry dancer, like her colleague Clare, Ann has been entertaining since she was a child. As a member of Anuna, she travelled all around the world as part of the Riverdance Chorus. More recently she has recorded and performed live with the Celtic Woman show, featuring in their recent Slane Castle DVD and soon to be released Christmas DVD from the Helix, Dublin. Married to Sean Dunphy’s son, Brian, Ann has also featured in the popularly acclaimed Dancehall Queues and Hucklebuck Shoes. Ann brings a warmth and personality to the band as well as a very fine and versatile voice."

Was Órlagh ever actually in Anúna? I don't think I've ever seen that stated anywhere.

Jeanine, this site lists the current members and mentions "notable" former members, including Órlagh, Méav & Lynn. (At one time the Anúna site had a listing of ALL former members, but that page has since disappeared from their site): http://www.anuna.ie/AboutUsSingers.htmlAmong my Anúna collection, the following singers are mentioned (solos in brackets): BEHIND THE CLOSED EYE: Méav (Midnight) Deirdre [as Deirdre Gilsenan] Lynn (Annaghdown, Midnight) Kira Deegan Róisín Dempsey Julie Feeney DEEP DEAD BLUE: Méav (Nobilis Humilis, Blackthorn, When I Was In My Prime) Róisín (Sliabh Geal Gcua, When I Was In My Prime) OMNIS: Méav (Ardaigh Cuan, Codail A Linbh, Geantraí, The Mermaid) Róisín CHRISTMAS SONGS: Méav Róisín Kira Julie Lynn (Silent Night, Codhlaím Go Suan, O Holy Night) ESSENTIAL ANÚNA [UK/European version]: Kira Róisín Julie Lynn (The Wild Song) Méav (Nobilis Humilis) CELTIC DREAMS -- MÉAV NÍ MHAOLCHATHA WITH ANÚNA: As Maggie mentioned above, Anúna also put out this CD (much to Méav's displeasure!) which capitalizes on Méav's popularity with CW and brings together Méav's featured numbers from earlier Anúna releases: Blackthorn, When I Was In My Prime, The Mermaid, Codail A Linbh, Geantrai, Aannaghdown, Ardaig Cuan, and Nobilis Humilis. There are also a few non-Méav Anúna tracks to fill out the CD. Other contributors on this CD include: Róisín Deirdre Julie Kira Gordon

I should've known that it was Meav singing Geantrai.
