RAY!!!!.."My Waking World" is a Beautiful song..I know it's something really special to you and it shows..and Orlagh performing it makes it just that much more beautiful... I have to say I was saddened when I read Orlagh's liner notes, you've written a wonderful tribute to your son. Thanks for sharing it with us all. Bruce

When I saw Bruce's post I hadn't read the liner notes yet and was taken aback. I went to read the ones on that song.
Ray, what a beautiful song in tribute to your little boy. My heart aches for your family having had to go through that. It's such a very painful thing to experience. What a very special song. God bless you and each member of your family.

A beautiful song, written by a beautiful guy, sung by a beautiful lady, in memory of a beautiful little boy. My Waking World
Oh it seems like only yesterday I walked across your shadow, You danced, I smiled, my life was there right in front of me, And while I took your hand and held it like there was no tomorrow Angels are not of this world, nor are they meant to be.
Come away with me to the waters and the wild, Come away if only for just for a little while I can't stay, but you're forever in my heart and in my mind Come away before I have to open up my eyes to my waking world.
Well they say we dream to keep the ones we love a little closer I slumber deep and drift away, and there you are with me And they also say that memories fade and nothing is forever, I know better 'cause true love lasts an eternity.
Come away with me to the waters and the wild, Come away if only for just for a little while I can't stay, but you're forever in my heart and in my mind Come away with me to the waters and the wild…
Where I take you in my arms, I long to hold you Watch my hopes and dreams unfold, look so deep into your eyes xxxxxxxxxxxx You're safe and warm and I'll protect you, never let this world reflect Now's your time so seize the moment, your stars xxxxxxxxxxx
Come away with me to the waters and the wild, Come away if only for just for a little while I can't stay, but you're forever in my heart and in my mind Come away before I have to open up my eyes to my waking world….. ….my waking world…..

Thanks for posting that, Maggie. If I had one disappointment about the new CD, it would be that the lyrics aren't included in the liner notes. I do appreciate that Orlagh included her own thoughts on the songs (I really liked that), but I'd still liked to have had the lyrics. I guess there's no satisfying me. At any rate, I concur with your interpretation. I even loaded the track into my audio editing software and was able to filter out almost all the instrumental backing and tried a lot of different filters to try to thin out her voice, but still couldn't quite make out the missing two phrases. Sorry I couldn't help. Gary

Just reading the words made my eyes smart with tears. A few moments later, I realized I was listening to the song at the same time as I was reading the words.

I think the second phrase after "your stars" is something like "never land" or "never end"
The first phrase after "into your eyes" is something like "a few million miles. " I think. I have the song on repeat right now to listen closely and see if I can figure it out.

After listening more I'm about 99 % sure that after "your stars" it is "never land" as I hear a pretty clear 'l' at the beginning of the second word.
After listening more I'm pretty sure after "into your eyes" is "a blue million miles". As I hear what sounds like a clear 'b' instead of 'f. ' followed by an 'l'.

Thank you, Maggie, for determining those lyrics that far. Here they are with what I think are the missing phrases added in: Oh it seems like only yesterday I walked across your shadow, You danced, I smiled, my life was there right in front of me, And while I took your hand and held it like there was no tomorrow Angels are not of this world, nor are they meant to be.
Come away with me to the waters and the wild, Come away if only for just a little while I can't stay, but you're forever in my heart and in my mind Come away with me to the waters and the wild…
Where I take you in my arms, I long to hold you Watch my hopes and dreams unfold, look so deep into your eyes, a blue million miles. You're safe and warm and I'll protect you, never let this world reflect Now's your time so seize the moment, your stars have aligned.
Come away with me to the waters and the wild, Come away if only for just for a little while I can't stay, but you're forever in my heart and in my mind Come away before I have to open up my eyes to my waking world….. ….my waking world….

I agree, it is a wonderful song. I had no idea that this tragedy had fallen upon Ray. It's sweet that Órlagh sang it on her album, it shows once again how close the members of CW are. I think the second disputed part is actually 'your stars have aligned'.
