Do Orla or Chloe sing a solo in Christmas Pipes?  I know Lisa and Meav do.  Some of you were at the concert so you should know.

I must've guessed that when I listen to the Christmas Celebration CD, I think Chloe just took a turn to me. Anyhow, that's track number 6 from it.

I'm listening to the song right now just so I can tell you!

Méav and Lisa are the only ones with the bigger solos.
Orlagh and Chloe both have little 1-liners throughout the song.

I've got the CD album called "Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration" and it's got this song listed in number 6.

I've heard the song, but I don't think I hear Chloe or Orla sing a solo.  For those of you who were at the concert, who sung which part?

You say it's confusing because I don't think you were at their Christmas Concert because MelWood didn't mention your name in her review.

I'm sorry Kimberly for bothering you about this, but I want someone who went to the concert to post out the lyrics and making a color code for each singer.  Losing patience. >:(

The forum members who went to the Christmas Concert. (McIrish, Melwood...)  I want one of them to write the lyrics color coding which singer sung which part since they saw it live and know.  To give them an idea, I would use blue for Chloe, purple for Orla, green for Lisa, and red for Meav.

Well, maybe if you had stated your request in the first place, clearly and politely, someone might have responded.

Actually I have been thinking about this since coming back and listening. I am not sure if Orlagh or Chloe got longer parts or not. Part of me wants to say yes, but not sure. I do know that Lisa and Meav sang their parts.

Just have to wait for the DVD.

I can see why you were confused there Mel.  Orla and Chloe did get bigger solos when they did that song on the DVD. Well, Orla did.  Chloe didn't leaving her the only one without a solo on that song.  Also you know how you said that Lisa and Meav sang their parts, Meav didn't sing all of her parts because the part Orla sung, Meav sang it previously.  Lisa did sing all of her parts though.  Just wrapping up the topic basically.

Hi Jonas,Believe it or not,this is the first time I've seen his post.Sorry to say,times have been very demanding for this old retiree.But now that I've read it let me try to answer your requests briefly.Orla does not have many solos when singing with the group because her voice has such a beautiful,haunting quality that it makes for a wonderful 2nd alto part in their harmonies.  There would be NO magnificent harmonies if it were not for Orla's superb voice.She is an absolute necessity for the group parts,which may be one reason why her solos are so very special.At the Christmas Celebration no one was more alive or more joyful singing praises to the Lord than our Orla! May she continue to be such a blessing to you and to all of us. Mc

Hmm....it doesn't seem right to me. I've heard Chloe sing the line.

thank you for pointing that out. while i feel that orla doesn't have the same versitility as the other ladies in voice, she has a specialised voice that harmonises perfectly with the others

On the DVD, Chloes does not have a solo part. On the cd Chloe sings the line "playing the peace Christmas brings".

I noticed that also. I thought it was a little weird... but it's still an amazing song. :)

Orla sang "Gentle and Low" not Meav.

I believe that Meav and Orla sung "Gentle and Low" on both the CD and the DVD.

Yes, maybe the both did sing it. But the camra was on Orla so it was hard to tell.

It's said to be captioned whenever they had used words to see.

Ok my mom has just heard this song and loves it. She was wonderin if this song was an Irish christmas folk song? Since over here in the U.S we have never herad it.  :)
