We have a number of very skilled graphic artists on the forum, and most of them are very generous about sharing their skills.  We often receive requests from other members who don't possess either the skills or the software tools to create their own banners, avatars, screen caps, etc.  So I'm going to make this a sticky topic thread where folks can post their requests.  Those of you who do have the talent and the time to work on these requests can then keep an eye on this topic and look for the ones that interest you.  I'll even set aside a directory and some space on my web server to store the graphics, so our members can hotlink directly to them.

That is awesome Rich. What a nice thing to do. Hey, i was wondering if any of you guys can make me a sig? I always wanted a better sig than what I have now but just afraid to asked because Im still a newbie here lol. I got two pics I want to use for the sig. I dont know exactly what i want to do with it but I would like this two pictures to be in my sig. Maybe the creative genious and experts at graphic design can help me make a sig using this two pictures. Thanks!

I want to say thank you so much to Siobhan for the very beautiful Mairead banner and to Rich for getting it installed for me. I wish I had the skills to return the favor. This is such a nice thing to offer all us technological troglodytes out here. I'm really very grateful to you both and to any others willing to assist in such requests. What a nice family we have.

If someone gets bored and decides they would like to make me a desktop background, that would be wonderful!  :)  I'm not picky about the image, but I would like it to be a group picture maybe with a few other pictures inocorperated in. I've tired to make backgrounds before and I failed horribly so I'm just going to leave it the experts here:D

They're gorgeous, as always.  But I'd be careful about using the banner with the flashing lights.  Rapid flashing graphics like that are known to cause seizures in some people.

That's a good point! To make it safer I slowed it down a bit. :)

JRRacing64 those are great avatars. Changing to different ones, and the variety are sweet! I also like your B&W banner with all the girls including those not currently in the group. We have so many great computer people here! Sigh. Well, me techno-troglodyte go back in cave now and write more poems with chisel and stone. Ugh, heavy!

Does everyone doing these amazing images use photoshop? I've been thinking, now that I have a photobucket account, I'm going to be wanting to try creating my own banners and such, but I don't think anything I have on my computer will allow me to do that.  I've been wondering if I should invest in photoshop at some point (trouble is it's not exactly cheap).  Then I saw the post about (was it gmpt or something like that?) the other option that is the same as photoshop, only free.  I'm thinking I should start out with trying that.  I've got all kinds of ideas in my head of photo edits and such that I'd like to attempt to do with my photobucket album pics, so I'm eager to try it out.

I actually only have MS Paint. Photoshop is too expensive.

I do have Paint on my computer, but so far it hasn't done what I wanted it to. :-\

PM me and we'll talk about the Paint thing..... I'm still getting the hang of it but I could pass on tips that were given to me.

you're doing so well with your graphics.  you should really give gimp a try. anything you can do in photoshop you can do in gimp.  you can get it here http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html (http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html)

It seems a bit complicated to install, but its not has hard as it looks. just follow step by step what they sat to do.  if you have questions pm me, i'll try to help :)

Well, I waited for when the pic came up on Orlagh's profile and took a screen capture. Then I brought it into paintshop where I cropped and saved it.

Hi. I've seen a LOT of cool graphics, and some of my faves are the Meav in the forest and ones like it. Here's my request: some one makes more of these, but for Lynn, Hayley, and all the others? I LOVED the 4 originals, and I'd love to have more especially for my two fave CWs (Lynn and Hayley)! Also, could someone make a wallpaper with Lynn and Hayley on it?

Very cool!!!! I like Orla's and Chloe's the best. That wasn't EXACTLY what I meant. Here is what I meant: Take the colors of one gown and put it on another one (example Meav in pink, Chloe in green, Lisa in purple, and Orla in pink).

Here they are! I'm happy with the Hayley and Lisa wallpaper, I just made one mistake; but the Meav mermaid was tricky! The hard part was making her hair longer, but I tried, and it isn't as bad as it could be. I hope you both like them! If either of you find the unsmooth background annoying, just tell me! I saved it at a low quality to take up only a little file space, but I can use up more if you think it would be better smoother.

This is a cool thread. I dont always look at it though, since I am on dial up and my connection is slow. It takes a while for things to load. So if my requests have already been done somewhere, please  guide me to the page.

The things I am really looking for are screen grabs from "You Raise me Up" in China when the translation caption at the bottom says "I am strong" I think those would make good motivational type pictures to print out and frame.   

Another idea I have is for all 9 past and current members in one pic in a V formation, sort of like an aircraft formation. Mairead would be the point, to the left would be past members, to the right the current members. Sort of like this...

An avatar is the icon like the one I have (Lisa) or the Helen icon that Lisa Kelly Fan has.  It can be anything you want as long as it follows the rules of the guidelines which I think means no spoilers and nothing offensive.

I can try to make you a banner. And an avatar is the little picture up there in the left-corner of the screen. Mine is animated.

You must be editing something as I replied... I can now see two of the image both in your orig. post and in the quotation portion of my reply.

Orig. Reply: Strange.  I don't see the images on your post, yet when I reply, it shows you have the coding in there just fine.  Copying the address for any of the images into another browser window, I see the images just fine.  Perhaps the webpage you're hosting from doesn't like directly linking images?  Otherwise, I've got nothing.

You're right. When I load this page, the images keep disappearing.  :(  If they continue to do this, I'll load them on a different site. Thanks for the input!

ggpht.com is a domain controlled by four nameservers at google.com.  It's part of the picasaweb domain, and coding it can be a bit tricky.  You usually have to include a size attribute in your code.  The standard picasaweb widths are 200, 400, 600 and 800 px, and you add the size attribute by placing /s400/ (for 400 px width) just before the file name in your path to the image.  So the code for your first image might be:

That's amazing! I love flowerline and the colorcombinations :D Which progam do you use? I can paint 'traditionally', but I would like be able to make banners like this...  :)

Though I could have used Photoshop for this picture, I decided not to because I have never been very pleased with the complicated layout of this program. It slows me down unnecessarily. Actually, I use free programs for most of my work. The primary photo-editing software that I use is called The Gimp. It is similar to Photoshop, but most importantly it's FREE! If you want to look at it, here's the website:

The best way to learn how to use a program like this is to practice with it. Perhaps it's not the best program in the world or the most powerful, but it does its job well.

But I need to warn you that it may be a little tricky to install. There might be several things to download, but at least it doesn't take a whole day to install like Photoshop.

Lynn's banner is a little bit different because the song I'm requesting wasn't sung by Celtic Woman.  It was sung by Anuna--however, Lynn did solo in this, and it's absolutely lovely.  It's called the Wild Song--youtube if you'd like. :)  Lyrics are optional, but if you so desire, here's the part I would like ^_^: I have come through the darkness/ Touched the moon's new fallen dew/I have found there a place/Where the wild song echoes, echoes in my heart.
