It would seem that we can expect to have the album fairly early. My German is shaky but from what I understand the release date for Destiny (the album at least, not sure about the DVD recording) will be the 23rd of October.

That day also happens to be a special anniversary for me, as it will be exactly five years from my first Celtic Woman show in Sydney.

They didn't say for what country at all. But I don't see why it should first come out in Germany, as they're native in Ireland and their biggest market is the USA.

Both A Christmas Celebration and Home For Christmas were released months if it's not a year before their tapings  ;)

It didn't say explicitly, but it mentioned the album, but not the DVD. The only reason I brought it up was that seems unusual for them to release the DVD before the PBS special which has previously been slated for release in December.

Actually, there has also been no official statement for the dvd to come out in December - that was just a guess. And the album could refer to both, the CD and the DVD. We can still hope ^_^

The Facebook page announced that the PBS special would air in December, so it's not a guess.

 The term 'album' is a little bit ambiguous, it doesn't necessarily include the DVD, but by the same respect, nor does it exclude the DVD. I really hope the DVD gets released at the same time though. It's just it's obviously being done a little differently this time as to previous albums.

Yep, exactly what I meant :D We can't know until we have at least more news, because album can mean both and one of it.

Yes, that's what the article says. It will be initially exclusivly available in Germany, which indicates a release in other parts of the world later this year or even next year.

I remember tweets saying PBS & RTL special. Senta-Sofia Delliponti (Oonagh) was cast of a daily soap on German TV station RTL. When she left the series to do music RTL promoted her releases really hard. So I guess the special will be broadcasted in Germany through RTL at some point.

I also found a post by Oonagh on her Facebook page saying she and Celtic Woman will be part of a show called "Santiano in Irland" which will be shown on German TV ZDF on october 25th at 11 am. Looks like this is what the outdoor shoot was for.

Woah, I totally missed that line *headmeetsdesk* That's stupid :/ Not for me (I live in Germany) but for most Celtic Woman fans. I also don't really get why they do that. Celtic Woman is not particularly popular in Germany - they are, however, in the USA. And they are from Ireland. Why doesn't it first get published there? Doesn't make much sense...

It could be that, seeing as they're working with Oonagh, that they're under some sort of contractual obligation to release in Germany first. After all, Celtic Woman has, in the past, released Deluxe edition albums through certain stores: Believe through Barnes And Noble and Emerald and (I do believe) Home For Christmas at Target. It could just be something as simple as that!

Yes, I know. I still don't see why they don't "base" their releases in a country in which they are more... popular. Not that I'm unhappy, in my case. But then again, a world wide release at once would be the nicest.

Eabha just wrote on Facebook that Destiny will be released at Christmas.

That's nice... but I guess people can get the German edition anyways, even though that might be more expensive.

According to the setlist found by someone during the taping last month, Skyland was not performed at the Mansion House. I'm curious to find out!

Gosh I really wish we were getting the CD that early in the US. I hope the tracklist will be the same for us too. Although I'm okay with the last two not being on it since I have them both already but the rest of the songs I REALLY hope we get too!

Exactly what I meant! I wonder what Skylands is! I hope it's a solo for Éabha. I couldn't find a song called Skyland, so I assume it's either an original song or an English title for a previously untranslated Irish song.

It's possible those 2 are bonus tracks for the German version seeing as they're both German in origin. Or at least it's my understanding Silent Night is a German composition. Perhaps we here in the US will get a different bonus track! Perhaps the big group version of Amazing Grace or even the intriguing encore of Danny Boy.

Silent Night is an Austrian song, but yes, the original lyrics are German. Also, the German editions often have Christmas Carols as bonus tracks. Beside that, I assume the tracklists will be identical.

I was surprised to see Silent Night & O Tannenbaum so which case if that's the German edition then I get it, I'm not sure if O T was taken off of HFC
I'm guessing Mairead C is singing Silent Night. The U.S. version will eventually have some live tracks as extras did like with SFTH.
This will be interesting we will know the songs before watching the DVD us ultimate fans will probably even know all the lyric's of every song before it comes out the DVD or PBS airing!

 This is actually the opposite of SfTH, since the old favorites will be the DVD's newest additions than the album unless our album will have all from the DVD which I doubt.

Question will I like this album, not that I'm not thrilled for Susan's 1st real special like LL had with Believe & MC first ever debut, but Meav is what's I'm all in all excited about even if she's guest for three tunes or so. The rapid changes are hard to follow thru..sometimes

If You Raise Me Up is a different version this time, then be it, because to me it's kind of odd for the very first time it's planted in the too soon beginning middle, right before Meav as, as if track's intro thru on 5 are representing Susan, Mairead C & Eabha as the next generation of CW then closing off for that mark with YRMUP then once finished, Meav appears./ sigh..

Also for Danny Boy, if it's same as always, then it will end as a really quiet encore end, calm quiet did I say..  :-X unless both of those are totally new...Si Di & Amazing Grace may be new and have new soundings too like She Moved Thru The Fair on Emerald as examples

When You Go and Skylands are both written by Andrew Williams. I cannot find any composer or songwriter with that name... howver, those are obviously original songs, as no other song called "Skylands" exists. There is also only one song called "When you go" and THAT one is definitely not CW material!

It's not Andrew Williams but William Andrews. The set list is surname, first name. However, the only musician I found with that name is a drummer named Bill Andrews, who worked with bands with such names as "Death" and "Massacre". I'll do further research. Maybe on YouTube.

Interesting. I guess they found it better suiting than the title of a video game, even if it's its theme. Also, they've changed Bean Faidin to Bean Phaidin, which is the actual title of the song - at least of the versions I've found. However, they still keep How Do I Keep Me From Singing, which is the wrong title.

The CD is going to be out in October in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The DVD and the international CD will come out in December.

You know, no offense to the CW Team and to the girls in particular, but they REALLY need to update their social media a bit more. Last Tweet was September 12 and they still list the other girls' Twitter handles in the Bio section. Plus their Facebook has only been sporadically updated and don't even get me started on their website. They really need to get on this soon because it's starting to look somewhat unprofessional.

If you click on the CW.com link at the top of this page and then scroll down about halfway you can see the CW Tour facebook posts and the current Tweets from the girls and others (Anto, Maggie, etc.). :)

I know that. I'm just saying that their various CEeltic Woman Official sites aren't up to date. The girls themselves are as current as they always are.

I think maybe CW does not keep up so they hope there is a little mystery about them and it will draw more fans to the concerts.

Something I've found from doing this for several years: There isn't another country on the planet as Internet obsessed as the US. I was in the Chat one night with a member from Japan about 6? years ago and he was telling me that to get tickets he had to call into their version of Ticketmaster. They have the fastest internet in the world and they couldn't buy tickets online. (They can now, fyi.) I remember trying to look up some international dates for Hayley a few years back and the venue sites had 0 info about shows that were less than a month out. I think that is part of the reason we always see CW's website as being slow to update, though they are MUCH better about it now then they were in the beginning.

To return us to the topic at hand, there isn't an official release date or even the CD/DVD itself up on Amazon or anywhere else I'm betting it'll be after Christmas or into the new year before we see them.

Listings on Ebay show a date of Nov. 6th.  One had a tracklist.

The eBay listings are from the UK, I was speaking of general US release which we usually have to wait for until PBS has aired the show. So I now hold the Album in my Hands. Amazon delivered it fast.I am now hearig it the first time. A wonderful album. And Eabha has 2 Solo Songs. "How Can I Keep From Singing" and "Walk Beside Me". Meav sings unfortunately only on "Oro Se Do Bheatha Bhaile" and "Westering Home" are only by Susan, the both Maireads and Eabha. So it gives little differences betwenn CD and DVD.

How great! but Walk Beside Me was agroup song on the show, right? Or was taht a mistake in the set list? I LOVED Éabha's sample of the song! Might become one of my favourite CW songs of all time!

I didn't even get to order it yet, so I will wait if it will be on Spotify within a few days. If not, I am going to buy it. If it is, I'll wait for the DVD... or I will buy the CD, but later... I don't know yet...

Someone posted some pictures of the CD on Facebook and I noticed a line that keeps coming back under several songs : "Trad. arr. Gavin Murphy". It might be the new musical director ;) I like the work he made so far with Destiny :D

Danny Boy is cut.

I'm not unhappy about Danny Boy being cut... It's a beautiful song and a fan favourite, but it's been on every DVD except Believe and the Christmas ones... That is quite enough. Same thing for You Raise Me Up, but I think they had to make a choice between these two and chose YRMU.

Did they rename Terloc's Dream as Destiny or will it be a new song intsead of that?  ::)
