Title: Your favourite tracks
Post by: ShiningBright on October 22, 2015, 04:40PM
You can choose up to eight, as it's the half of sixteen :D And it's seventeen tracks... ah, well...

I will vote once I've heard the whole album ;)

Edit: Voted for My Land, Siúlil A Rún, How Can I Keep From Singing, Óró Sé Do Bheatha Abhaile, Sometimes A Prayer Will Do, Bean Pháidín, Westering Home and Walk Beside Me.
Like An Angel Passing Through My Room and Hills Of Ireland were extremely close.

Sorry! Just changed the balance of power by adding Westering Home (my favorite track so far) and Tir Na Nog to the 7 votes for a three way tie!

I'm fine with that! Westeirng Home is one of my favourite tracks, above Oro... I don't really get into Tir, though...

With respect, you've said, since the previews of the song, that you don't like the chorus (I hope this was you who said it otherwise I'm gonna look like a jerk! lol ) because of the "oh oh's" that are endemic to German pop songs. But I actually like it! Though I must admit that I hope, on the tour, that they make it a bit more Celtic sounding. And get rid of those stupid arm movements! Mairead Carlin was the best in that music video! Showed all the right emotions, was dancing around, having a blast. She was the star of that video, to me!

:) What I love so much about this album on the group songs is they each work & carry for a different mood stance which is why you can't really have a favorite. At first I straight away went for Óró Sé Do Bheatha Abhaile as the Best, but that was for a CW style that I am use to contrast to this new direction of very Irish scale unseen not even as highly on ANJ.

My Land- is like a tune to end to a fantastic or memorable day.  ;)
When You Go- a great arrouse up when your in mode "Go-ing" some place or somewhere your happy to go to or that marking destination on your day!  :D
Westering Home- a tune to hmm that day too during when you head up joining in at a location restaurant, favorite place, while you   Specially enter in to meet up with ones you know friends, those you like and love to see.  ::)
Óró Sé Do Bheatha Abhaile - tune to hum at the time you know you are somewhere that you are to be supposedly best be, you own this shining moment to you!  :)
Bean Phaiden - tune to you find that your happy where you are at the location your at in the significant part of the day!  :P
Tir- a tune I easily forget now how it goes, a great song for a great mood but no words to put it, you probably look like a fool
singing solo in public, I didn't say humming. :D

So there you have it what mood status your in depends by which song is your favorite at that moment!
There all spectacular in their uniquely status.

The video was adorable! Of course, the dancing was a bit over the top, but i liked the way it was made. I still have mixed feelings over that song, however, not only about the end of the chorus. I don't dislike it at all, but it's simply not one of my favourite CW songs, ro favourite songs in general.

Oh okay! Gotcha!

Agree about the music video! Great for the first one! But yeah the dancing was over the top. That's kinda how I feel about the choreography changes to Their Abhaile Riu and Nil. The moves from the 2013 Your were perfect for the songs and then in 2014 and 2015 they changed them to add a whole bunch of arm waving. Not so good.

I haven't seen the new choreography, but I generally don't like much arm waving :/

No no ..the arm moving isn't a problem, it becomes weird at the instances when the cameras are zoomed at the them each one looking at you while waving and dancing around...I get the fantasy of it but it's over doing it when they specifically do it when the cameras are facing at them in closeness and they are looking straight at the camera. It's not the girls thoughts they are performing and have no idea how it's gonna turn out..

The arm waving is ridiculous and silly.

I think I recall the waving during Níl Sen la , for Tar all I remember Is pointing, gesturing, waving like I get it...I wasn't paying attention on tour since I was too into Lynn sing it live at me. Orinoco Flow in 2015 does have an additional unique arm wave at the end pretty creative skilled techniques there if want to see check out this arm wave there's a video of Meav mastering it perfectionately!" Ooh la la.. 8) waving is the new musts ***

It's not Orinoco Flow that I've a problem with. In 2013 the girls dancing was perfect. Plenty of movement, lots of dress swirling, all the usual cheekiness. It was perfect. But I remember, particularly in Nil this year, just thinking, What's with all the arms in the air and waving to our sides thing?

I absolutely love all the choreographies or girls do, but the arm waving is the one I would delete or at least reduce.  I wish however, that they'd do more shoulder movements in the future, like they did in Spanish Lady.

It's true that you don't. But on the 2014 Emerald Tour, the song with all the weird arm waving was Teir Abhaile Riu. And then, for the Anniversary Tour, it carried over to Nil as well.

;) Ok then ... so Nil is 2015.

I was considering whether or not should we move this topic to another post>
I'm not sure how to move posts, only creating one. I have a video.

I love Pixar Cars* and when I heard the melody tempo to Sometimes a Prayer will Do I love Susan singing in the late night as while Mater, Lightning & the town of Radiator Springs & The Cozy Cone falls fast asleep. # Zzz
Great song for me  ;)!!

I liked pretty much everything on Destiny!

In the poll, I picked:

My Land     ("love at first listen" for me!)
Westering Home     (might be even better than My Land in some respects, but my heart already belonged to My Land.  ;D)
How Can I Keep from Singing    (Wow!)
The Whole Of The Moon       (A really fun song)
Sometimes A Prayer Will Do
Like an Angel Passing Through My Room    (liked the ABBA song ... loved this cover a lot!)
Hills of Ireland     (the last song on the standard North American version of Destiny. I especially loved the second half!)
Walk Beside Me

Tied for 8th was When You Go and Tír Na nÓg. I loved those two songs but a coin decided that to be in the top 8 in this poll was not their destiny.  :D

I kind of wish I picked When You Go in the poll, honestly. It's so good!

Some really tough choices as I liked almost everything on the album.
