Are a lot of Irish still Catholic? I remember reading that there are a lot of church of Ireland members too

Most people in Ireland are Roman Catholic, but there are also plenty people of other Christian denominations, such as the Church of Ireland, among others, and non-Christian religions, aswell as seculiar people. Pretty much the same mix as in any European country, which a Christian (in this case Catholic, in other cases mostly Protestant) majority, and some other minorities.

I don't really see the point of your question. Why can't there be "a lot of" Catholics, and also "a lot of" Anglicans? Minorities are not nessecarily few, they are just fewer than the majority.

 There  seem  to  be  more  Protestants  in  Northern  Ireland  which  is  a  separate  political  entity from  the Republic  of Ireland  which  is  largely  Roman  Catholic.
