So I know Glenn and Ronan are working on some material for their own live gigs in January.

I wonder what that means for the HfC tour and VoA tour next year starting in March?

With the amount of time the girls spend on the road, I'd think Mairead and Ronan would prefer to tour together.

Sounds like this will be another great song. I believe Ronan's arranging the music for these. If so, I'm really impressed.

It debuts on the The Ray D'Arcy Show on RTÉ1 on Saturday, November 12th.

 And  it  makes  sense  too  ( concerning  Meav's  endorsement)  since  she  had  a  hand  in  selecting  Ronan to be  a member of CW to begin.    8)

Indeed !  That  is  why  there  is  no  need  to  fear  for  CW's  future  with Meav making  those  kinds  of  decisions  as  creative  consultant.    :)

Today, it was officially announced that Glenn & Ronan have signed with Liffey Records (and sister label Celtic Collections).

They started recording in the studio today and the album is scheduled to release in October 2017.

Firstly, Home "Safe and Sound" is the name of Glenn & Ronan's new single. That's really clever on Mairead's part.  ;)

"Last tour with my better half ... Couldn’t be prouder of everything that’s coming your way" ...

... That kind of sounds like Glenn & Ronan will be focusing on their own work, including their upcoming album, and won't be on the Homecoming tour with Celtic Woman. I think that would make sense. If they want to want to try to have success as a duo, being on tour 8+ months a year with Celtic Woman is conducive to their other goals. For the most part, it would be difficult to generate attention outside of the Celtic Woman fanbase without doing their own shows, promos, etc. That said, they kind of kickstarted their careers doing a certain Adele medley last year, which took off when they were with Celtic Woman.

Speaking of the Adele medley, let us segue to this comment: "your new single is poignant and beautiful and regardless of anything - it has touched peoples hearts and that’s what’s important." One possible interpretation of that is that after the enormous and sudden success of their Adele medley, they had certain expectations and it's taking a little longer than expected to sustain the level of success and popularity they were hoping for. Them performing on their own would make sense if they want to commit to achieving their goals as a duo.

Either way, if you like their music, I'm sure they'd appreciate lots of support and encouragement.  :)

Hello World (EP)

Glenn & Ronan had a surprise release of their EP Hello World.

The digital EP consists of 4 tracks, 3 of which were previously released singles.

4. Come Home

The new track, Loved & Lost is pretty good! Some of the lyrics do more for me than others, but there are parts of the chorus in particular that really hit home for me, particularly some parts of the chorus. Like all of the songs on of the EP, it's got a great melody, very effective accompaniment and outstanding harmony.

There isn't any track on the EP I don't like. It's a tough call for my favourite song, but I'll go with Loved & Lost, although Come Home could easily be my favourite as well. In Loved & Lost, there are some overwhelmingly powerful moments, both in melody and message and that's what put it over the top for me.

This really is a great EP and if you haven't heard their music before, I'd highly recommend listening to them on Spotify or some other platform (or preview the tracks on iTunes or on some other retailer's site). The tunes and harmony alone are really lovely.

The album Horizon released on iTunes last Friday (April 13, 2018)!
... The same day I had my meet and greet with Celtic Woman!

The album went straight to #1 on the main iTunes chart!

The CD officially released on Thursday, April 19, 2018,
... One year to the day I had my first ever meet and greet with Celtic Woman!
