Title: Susan's Newfound Vocal Expressiveness
Post by: glenn on December 10, 2017, 01:38PM
I was very impressed at Susan's performance in the "Homecoming" video.  In contrast to the past, when, I must say (sorry Susan) the emotions seemed contrived, faked, the emotions expressed in her performance now come across as real.  I really never though I'd say this, but her rendition of "The Voice" was so good, so expressive, I thought, that it now gives Lisa Kelly some serious competition.  This was certainly not the case in the past.  Now, to put it most simply, she is singing like SHE MEANS IT, and that makes all the difference in the world.

I think she meant it before. Susan had said in the past that she was more used to singing/performing in character form being in shows, so she had to get used to singing/performing as herself. It can be very daunting to "come out from the shadows" of a character and be yourself onstage.
