"We are delighted to announce the newest member of Celtic Woman, please welcome Megan Walsh.

Megan will make her debut performance with us in our upcoming TV Special and on our new album to be released later this year.

Megan is 21 years of age and from County Meath, Ireland. She has studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and as well as being a classically trained soprano, she is equally proficient in many other genres.
Megan is a seasoned performer, having been on stage from a very young age. In 2014, at age 17, she won "The Soloist" competition with the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland. This journey took her initially to the USA, where she sang on the main stage of the famous Carnegie Hall, New York.

We are very excited to have her on board and hope you will join us in welcoming her."

Wow! A new member. I think the new album and PSB special will be amazing. Will Megan be the replacement for Susan because she is pregnant or will she be a fifth member?

Susan is taking leave from the group. Megan will be taking over for her.

CW has broken the record again for youngest member! If she turned 21 this year, she was born in in 1997.

This girl has an AMAZING voice! It's the most classical voice they've had since Meav. Her voice reminds me the most of Margaret Keys.

 She sounds like a winner  !   8)

Awww cool! Welcome to Megan! When I first saw the announcement I had to do a triple take! I thought it was meav! I was like wow she really resembles a young meav in the picture they used!

 Megan sounds very much like Emer Barry I think.    :-*

Yeah, both Emer Barry and Margaret Keys. She has impressive range and power like Emer, yet the tremendously soothing quality of Margaret. For even the highest notes, she doesn't have to change her voice that much and those peaks don't sound shrill at all.

Yeah, I think I'm going to like this girl!

Just a little snip from her introductory post which may or may not be relevant down the road: "such an exciting year ahead."

That sounds like she signed up for one year.

For the near future, what "one year" means is she will be part of the 2019 tour.

Now, Sue also signed up for one year when she started and ended up staying for at least 6 and a half.

But she's definitely not a placeholder for Sue. I think if Sue does end up returning, one of the other Celtic Woman members will be taking leave and Sue and Megan will be in the group together.

She sounds amazing but will she sing like that during this lineup of Celtic Woman? Will she take over what Mairead has done and Mairead stay a more Chloe route. She sounds so like a great replacement for Mairead Carlin. Can she sing like Susan looks by from something I heard.

Whenever there's a new member it's most interesting curious to see how the Dynamics would work. Knowing Alex and Lisa K would be together was curious until Alex took to help Orlas placement her way. I cerrtainly wouldn't want this member singing Susan's songs like Susan did Lisa Kelly's for a PBS Special even though I wgrown to accept it my only most bother with that was Alex couldn't have that and to me Alex spin on Caledonia and The Voice was breathtakingly different in another way Susan's was similar more to Lisa K with a voice more similar to Alex but it Susan still vs the best of She Moved Thru the Fair is it's a new style for Susan or unless it's a new success like Alex on The Voice.

This will be finally interesting to follow more as a soprano taking the contemporary spot once again. This may be the closest of having the Alex lineup again or completely changed or similar to with Susan it can go any direction with CW.

Well, all except for Órlagh and Éabha are sopranos, it's more of a classical soprano "taking over" a contemporary soprano's place. However, I don't really think there's any "taking over" stuff at all - every member has her own spot, there are no "replacements". Megan isn't supposed to be the new Susan, she's herself.

That aside, she does have musical theatre and contemporary experience. I'm sure she can sing a wide array of songs with CW, and since there's going to be an entirely new show, she can get songs that suit her. I agree with Chiara 100%....let Megan be Megan. Personally, I don`t mind the changes(and I`ve seen most every CW several times since 2009) as it keeps things fresh . When you see a new show with different performers, it`s a new experience....and in the 8 shows I`ve seen, I`ve never been disappointed.

Yay, how exciting! ;D I'm looking forward to hear her preform with Celtic Woman and see how her voice blends with the other girls. :-*

I'm not sure what your Internet Security software is worried about.

There's not much running on there that should concern it. It's a forum (albeit an updated one) with a chat system. Lol. It's not running crazy scripts or anything.

Perhaps it thinks it's an attempt to spoof celticwoman.com or celticwomanforum.com?

All I can tell you is that there`s a yellow mark next to the site name and states"suspicious site...caution"it is likely this website contains malware or other security risks"...not too comforting  :o

Kevin im not sure what you use for internet security but there is nothing on that site that can harm you the only thing is it's not a secure site like this one it doesn't have the HTTPS it's just HTTP. I pay for a antivirus software on my hosting and it scans my sites and files every night and takes care of any problem that should come up but in the report I get there has been nothing so rest assured the site is safe. Im at the site lots of times a day and I don't have any yellow mark on my anti virus software and anti malware and I use on all my computers  Microsoft Security Essentials and it updates everyday and I one of the top 5 in it's class

The security software is most likely concerned because it's a very similar name to other sites (celticwoman.com, celticwomanforum.com). Spoofers try to do that with banking sites etc. to steal your information. Your security software doesn't know it's a forum that's not going to steal anything. Lol.

That and the site doesn't have a SSL cert. and that's what Google chrome is looking for it's the only browser that looks for that and I did look into getting a SSl for the site but it's $149.00 per year per site and I would have to rewrite some of the forums code to get it to work now that the site is up and running. Like Tom said there is nothing on the site worth stealing so why go thru the expense for the SSL other then to make Chrome happy My internet explorer shows nothing Firefox shows a padlock with a line thru in meaning not secure and Google Chrome says not secure right by the web address  so we will go as we are for now and Kevin your a member of Eabha forum and it should tell you the same thing as it is on the same hosting account. also this forum is a non secure site it doesn't have a SSL it's web address is also just HTTP with no S for secure

I have to say, I wish Celtic Woman would have filmed a little welcome video for Megan. They only ever did that once and that was for Lisa Lambe. I just think it'd be a nice little gesture to do for the new girls when they come in.

So Do I the same, except those were the days a member started out touring a show & not like Eabha with a special and maybe Megan will be similar to Eabha starting CW. I wonder if they haven't because Tara the first time we ever saw her was a clip from touring in Europe, Asia, or Africa. I don't recall Mairead Carlin or Susan had one either like you say Lisa Lambe was the last. Alex and Lynn had welcome videos alone on their own rehearsing like Alex or Dress Rehearsal like Lynn!

I need to stay more up to date with this group. I didn't know that Susan was pregnant and only just now learned of this new member.

I really hope that Susan can return to the group and Megan can stay with it. That way, there can be five members again. It might be wishful thinking, but I've more or less wanted them to return to five members since Alex left. Fingers crossed!
