Hopefully PBS will be announcing dates for other areas of the country. Of course Boston is the place to be with the Red Socks and Patriots!

Oregon and Southern Washington (anyone who gets OPB) will have their first airing Dec 2. at 8:00 pm with follow up airings December 8 at 6:00 pm and December 9 at 3:00 pm.

WNED in Buffalo will televise the Christmas Celebration at 8PM on Saturday, December 8, and again on Tuesday, December 11.

Can anyone tell me how long it appears the show will be? On MPT it is listed as being 61 min. But a 2 hr. timeslot is taken by it. ??? So, I was just wondering what other stations said.

The show lengths will vary from station to station.  If they're going to use it as part of a pledge drive, they'll interrupt it several times and it could run as long as two hours.

During these pledge drives airings, I wonder if they will have any interviews with cast or crew, either live or pre-recorded?

When I was at the 2 nights of taping in Dublin at the Helix. Before they started taping the show there were two ladies talking and being filmed on the stage. They mention it was for PBS.

With ANJ, if it was a live pledge drive, here they had nothing except the PBS people on begging during the breaks. But if it wasn't live, like late night or some such, they had a prerecorded thing with people talking at Slane and such. There was a very very small 'interview' (I don't know if you can call it that even) with CW it showed also... Man, I wish I could find that online. It was a wonderful little clip.. This one only seemed to be shown late at night. At least, that's the way it was for my PBS station!

I hope they have another little interview again :D

MPT last night had 2 tickets to CW for $300 and 2 tickets GUARNTEED 1st or 2nd row for $500. >:( With no M&G. I didn't even ask my parents for tickets for Christmas. That is redicoulus! (sp ;))

Orlando ( WMFE )has moved the airing of the Christmas Show. It is now Friday Dec 7th 9:00 pm. form its orginal November date

Maryland Public Televison will be airing "Celtic Womam: A Christmas Celebration"  on 12/7 at 1:03 PM; 12/8 at 8:00 PM and 12/9 at 2:30 PM.   This is the December begging week.  Celtic Women tickets for the march 8th, 2008 concert will be available, (they were offered at $300.oo a pair select seating and $500.00 a pair for the 1st 2 rows on Thanksgiving, most likey it will be the same price)

The MPT Stations are Channels 22; 28; 31; 36; 62 and 67 depending on what part of the state of Maryland you live.  Many of these stations can also be picked up in ajoining states with an antenia.   You will need to check your cable listings for the cable channels in your area.

I said it wrong - what I meant was I would watch the PBS special to see if IT had anything added over the Christmas Celebration DVD.  I think it does, because I've read other forum members talking about the minor differences they see on the PBS airings.

Ok maybe a few different camera angles. I have wathched the dvd besides being there for the two nights of taping.  But honestly what they show on PBS during the break of course not on dvd. And when they did the shows there was no Act 1 ,2 or 3. It was was straight through. Though I could give other info from the two nights I was there.

Well it's over, and yes it was good, not as good as the DVD.  ;)

It was good to very briefly hear the girls talk again.

KCPT showed ANJ tonight.   

It was just on KET here in KY. There was no interview with the girls, just a few extra shots and a few measures of an unknown song at the end (at least unknown to me). Now KET is showing groups from the 70's performing. Orleans is still havin' fun and Still The One.

WLIW In New York Showed The Christmas Celebration tonight from 8:00-9:30....All You Meav fans....She was Live in the House....So No Backstage stuff at the Helix because they had Meav to talk too....She looks Great....Her hair is longer....They had a gift for someone (just one person)....who pledged 2,100...with A Celtic Woman 2007 tour Denim jacket (Meav was wearing it) that only cast and crew received...2 tickets to the Tarrytown, N.Y. Dec. 13th Concert (of course Meav) with a Meet and Greet...Also 2 tickets to see Celtic Woman in March....She sang a little of Silent Night....I wanted to see some backstage stuff at the Christmas Celebration....Got to see Chloe a little....It will be televised a number times so maybe....All in All it was good....As Yes Mel....The DVD is Better....Ann Marie

So Ann Marie, are you saying that PBS was supporting Meav's Tarrytown show? I LOVE it!!!  This is also the first I've heard of a M&G at the Tarrytown show...I wonder if the M&G was just for the one person or if others of us attending this show will get the opportunity.  Thank you for this post!

The Denim Jacket From The Celtic Woman World Tour was Meav's own personal jacket....She did sing Silent Night....It was Wonderful....She does have it as one of the songs she'll be singing on her Mini Tour.....

That is great! PBS now supporting Meavs' solo efforts. We all know what that did for the group. Imagine how it will help them each individually! RMPBS here in Colorado aired the Christmas concert again last night. I agree Mel, it was great to hear the voices even for just a few seconds in conversation.

It aired last night, but they didn't show any interviews with the girls. It was just parts of the DVD and then the droning pledge drive people (who pronounced Mairead's name Mared - I almost called them just to correct it, but then I didn't). 

oh that sounds like me.... considering it ended up being ANJ for me.... I just got really fed up with hearing Slane and Meath mispronounced so I shut off the tv and went to cool off. (I'm a stickler for pronounciation).

I was there in Dublin for the two nights of taping. The second night is what you see onthe dvd.On PBS out here showed the interview witht the gals though short. It might depend on the stations. It was taped for all stations when the ladies doing the pledage part. It was taped before the show started after and the theather was closed to the public. Also there is 3 acts as they say on tv. Only reasong they say that is for the pledge and extend the time. Also they did the show continious on the second night what you see on the dvd with some editing of course. Compared to the first night where there stage prepping and generator malfunction.

Actually the DVD has shots from all 3 tapings. Most is from the Wed night Taping, but there is alot from Tues and Wed afternoons tapings too.  ;)

As you and I were both there. I only know of Wedsnday night taping on dvd. If Tuseday night taping is on there then which song(s)? Thoough yes they were getting camera angles Tuesday night while still prepping the stage and generator breakdown for our extended break and during the day.

Don't want to get off topic, but it's too time consuming to break down every shot in the DVD and say which shot is from which night/afternoon. I just know that when I watch it, I can tell.

Lets just say they did a Great job of editing all 3 tapings into one smooth taping.  :)

I didn't expect you to break it each frame down and the editiing is good I agree. I ahve watched it to. Though I disagree on the Tuseday maybe a song or two  and during the day. But I did ask and waiting for answer from CW. :) PBS just takes the songs straight from the dvd.

Just out of curiosity. did they cut any songs out? if so which ones?

They cut out "The Wexford Carol" and the Gaelic duet that Chloe and Meav sing (I can't remember the title just now).

so they cut out 2 of Meav's songs.  That's nice.  :-[

They said they had to cut them to fit their time slot...but YOU get them as Bonuses on the DVD...

No..its the same DVD we can buy anywhere lol, those 2 are not extras on the DVD :D.

Its just PBS's way of making you feel better when your paying $100 for the DVD  ;)

I emailed my local PBS station again and after telling me in October that they would air it sometime during their begathon they told me today that they aren't going to be showing that particular show.  But they are gonna show ANJ again on Wednesday.  I don't understand them, but whatever.

Our President of Sales asked me if I watched it this weekend...I said...Excuse me? He just laughed. Then he asked if I was in it..I said, I saw the back of my head again :D.

I tell my friends where I am sitting and saw the back of my head once or twice ;)

I see a few back of heads! ;) ;D I can tell in a few shots when it was Tues or Wed. But I agree Mel..they did a great job of glueing them together!

GPB  aired ANJ for the begathon here on Sunday. This had the ticket offers

I was sad that the sweet lady wasn't on. The lady from GPB pronounced Meav's name wrong.
