QUOTE:
"SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (KABC) -- There are several brush fires burning in the Inland Empire.
In the Phillips Ranch area of Pomona, just west of Highway 71 and east of the 57 Freeway, several helicopters are battling a fire moving uphill that has already consumed two acres.
The CDF is also handling a fire in Corona at I-15 and Cajalco Road."

I hope the wild fires don't affect anyone making for the Concert.
I'm thinking of course about Rich.

Nothing can be allowed to go wrong with this concert, which he has looked forward to for so long.

I'm glad he has Chris and Eric with him.

Here is a map and latest news of where the fires are. Give it a minute to download:

Can we all send some positive vibes to Rich, please?

Those fires should not effect us. The one fire is south and west of Riverside looks like near Norco. The other one just west of Ontario might cause me to detour since I'll taking I10 across.

O Almighty and merciful God, who hast commissioned Thy angels to guide and protect us, command them to be the assiduous companions for pur CFW members from their setting out until their return; to clothe them with their invisible protection; to keep from them all danger of collision, of fire, of explosion, of fall and bruises, and finally, having preserved them from all evil, and especially from sin, to guide them to their heavenly home. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Zankoku,  If fire start over we are in Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley areas than I will be worried especailly with traffic overload  on the freeways constant here . The heat dosen't help of course. CW is in Santa Barbara tonight whcih is about 10-15 degrees cooler than here

(Actually prefer Monterey or Tahoe)

My dad and I used to belong to a Live Steam railroad club in Goleta called Goleta Valley Railroad which was on a hill top.

OK folks here is the scoop. I'm not drving to the LA area from Phx Ariz. I'm flying into Burbank and I'm Staying at the Westen Boniventure Hotel in Downtown LA with a Rental Car and its still cheaper than driving my own Vehicle from Phoenix this is with a last minute flight. I have not been able to raise Rich yet so someone PM me so we can get together I'll arriving in Buirbank just before 9AM tomorrow morning.

Just to bring everyone up to date - yesterday's chemo is really hitting me hard. I'm trying to concentrate my limited resources on getting to the concert tomorrow night. That's the reason I made this trip, and I'll sacrifice everything else to make sure it happens. I'll have to see how I feel in the morning before I can commit to anything.

I have a particular, special reason for wanting to get to this show, even more than any other. If it all works out, and I'm permitted to talk about it, I'll fill you all in later.

Sorry you're have a rough time Rich.  I have heard it is a VERY hard thing to go through and I doubt if many others would have even attempted to do this trip.  Another way you show us what a great person you are.  I hope that 24hrs will help and you can not only attend the show but enjoy it ,too.  Best of luck and I don't know why the show is special for you but I'm sure the reasons are important.  I hope you know if there were ANY WAY any of us could help we would.  Take care and have as much fun as your health will let you!!!  You are our best representative, ya know!!!

Hi Guys!  Dwight, Jim and Craig, glad you are going to be at the Greek tomorrow night!

We were thinking of meeting for a lunch at 12:00 noon at The Hamlet in Pasadena (214 S. Lake Avenue; phone #: 626-449-8520) tomorrow.

Rich: Check your PMs - The main priority for me is to get you, Chris and Eric to the concert from the hotel and back with minimal worry and stress.  Also, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to call me.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight.

Rich.

From what my brother and my Boss have told me, I understand what it is taking you to make this trip.

You take care. If necessary, Have Chris put your butt in a wheel chair and push you to the front of the stage so you can see better. Of course you will need to be holding up  CFW sign.

Take care my friend. I pray that you are successful in your trip.

Rich tomorrow night is going to be special beyond belief for you. i know you have the strength to be there and to share in moments that so many of us have prayed for you to experience. Wish I could be there to see the joy on your face from start to finish. I think some folks may get a bit camera happy though just because this is the last ANJ concert in the states and because you and your sons will be there, not to mention a few surprises. God bless you Rich, and safe travels to you Jim, Dwight, and Willow. Thanks again for picking Jim up Craig.

Wow, I never thought about it being the last "A New Journey" concert in the states.  Okay, I'm packing loads of Kleenex.

Yes, I would of been up for my coffee, and yes WE would have had to Fetch it for you.

As for kissing the Buses, they most likely did that when they were dropped off a couple days ago.  Once they got to L.A. they don't need the buses.

Wonder if the girls hug the drivers before they head off  ;D

Hi Rich was nice to meet you and your Sons and Hamburger Hamlet. Glad you , sons and Mary of course got to go to the M&G.  Share what happen with you all last night. :) I hope to meet ladies too on the next tour.
This is going to be long for me to peck on ::)

Ok my turn for my review on that magical hot day and night. And the audience was good that night.  I picked Jim M up from the truck stop in Castiac then to Wal Mart in Valencia to get some stuff. Ok now to Pasadena to the Hamlet to meet Rich, his sons, and Mary-Willow and Dwight for lunch. Dianne could make it bbut met her at the show. Around 3 we left I went straight to the Greek. On the way to  avoid alot of traffic, to get parking which I parked for free!  and going through the residental area we got behind a big white bus. Jim said it was the CW ladies bus and it was . Jim can add info to that. Well I got parking spot and I didn't have to pay for :). We saw Orla get out , Rachel, and Chloe. Amy got out of another bus that was behind us driving there. Jim said Hi to her and saw member of the THK walking by us a few times.  David Downes also was there walking to the backstage area :)  . Well standing in the shade Rachel came by and we told her I  have this box for Ray, She came back and I gave it to her realizing I forgot to put a note with it ::). It was sent to the CW office but returned to me last November.

Me, Jim and Mary went to the ticket window and Jim bought my ticket for row EE pit and Mary up graded her ticket too for the same EE. And standing infront of the venue listening to the sound checks of The Sky, Sun and Dawn and a few others. Also saw Mairead walking to and from the bus   Dwight showed up and now just people watching an seeing some cast walking by talking to others and mentioning the CWF. Standing around where the high price liquids and merchandise I saw Nicky talking to the crew member on the stair to the stage. I told him that I  emailed him to his MySpace page asking him about  Martial Arts and wee chatted a bit then he had to go.

THK open the show and I was sitting front row next to Rich , then had to move cause late people coming >:( Any hooo  Then CW and wow The Sky, Sun music changed a bit. Lynn and Alex WOW WOW WOW :) :) :) Alex fantastic on "The Voice''. Lynn awesome totally awesome on Scrarbrough Fair.  :) :) :) with Orla on harp.   Des  got a well received appaluse for his on NELLA :)  Mairead well always nitro power and shaking her groove too :) :)

During the drum solo and music solos and "At the Ceili" the ladies and the Choir were getting the groove on and shaking their groove :) :) :)  The audience gave a few minutes applauding and standing after the perfomance
During intermission I saw Joanne talking to Rich when I was passing by and mention that I gave Rachel the box to give to Ray and to take me to Ireland with you ;)  Well over all it is another ANJ to end and yes they are happy to be going home.
After the show I, Jim M and Dwight were hanging around inside  then had to leave. Well walking down the path where the buses are , Ray came out and I called him over asking if he got the box I gave to Rachel an he was happy he now knows who gave it to him. I said you wouldn't remember me from Dublin, ACC taping an he did. I, and Ray  are drummers..... and I goofed without putting a note with it. I explained what happen when I sent it. And no it wasn't chocolate  So we four talked for about 10 mins and about chocolate and with Guiness. And why I did it and different than other gifts given I got but more meaningful. He asked if the ladies would get the same? I said is in my plans. :) And to meet the gals too.
Well that is my night ANJ magical day and night.  THANK YOU JIM M!!  Wheeew alot of hitting the keys ::)

I was pleased to be able to meet: Rich, Eric, Chris, Craig, Mary, Jim, and Dwight. After having planned the luncheon, I was unable to attend, but at least I met everyone at the concert.

This was my third show and each one was different. The first one had Lisa and Meav in it, the second one had Lisa and Hayley, and this one had Lynn and Alex. I also thought that Lynn did and awesome job on Scarborough Fair ( and on all of her songs), and that Alex excelled in At the Ceili. Orla, Chloe, and Maraid never cease to amaze me! I'm glad that the L.A. audience was more receptive this year than last, and I'm looking forward to the new tour next spring.

Jim M will add to that too.

Shywolf, how did you and Jim M. get so lucky to behind CW bus?  8) ;D
I'm glad all of you had a vary magical night.  glad to hear that you were able to get your box to Ray. :)

IrishDreamer, I didn't know it was the bus until Jim M told me when driving up the hill and narrow street in a residential area to the venue to avoid traffic and get parking. Jim M has proof of that ;D

Saturday in the park,
I think it was the fourth of July -
Hmmm.  No!
It was the dark of the moon
on the 5th of June -
No!  Wait!  Those words go
with another tune!

It was hot and sunny
as I drove to L.A.
I counted my money
Ah! The 17th of May

I talked to Craig
and then to Dwight
It seemed the plan
was going right

Celtic Woman after dark
at the Greek in Griffith Park
No tickets yet - we'd take a chance
I wore a new shirt and new pants

Dwight flew in - Craig drove his car
We went to lunch - it wasn't far
The food was good - it was a plus
with Rich, his boys and all of us

Then we left to pay for seats
completely stuffed by all the eats
Two pit seats left - we bought one
and Willow snagged the final one

Dwight arrived - the night was set
It was too early to get in yet
We stood around in the heat
There was no shade on the seats

They let us in
We bought some stuff
It was still warm
For some it was rough

Three fifty a bottle
For water on ice!
We found our seats
The show was nice!

Jim M,
The first part was GOOD, we await the rest.
Hope the next part is better, and the last, the best!
It doesn't need to be poetry, prose will do.
Please write in the style that's best for you.

Honestly, I prefer a sonnet and iambic pentameter.

But, haikus are also nice.

til Jim found us some, to him nearby
What was at first anxiety
Became quite a reality
to see the girls face to face
is a memory not to erase.
Orla's ring shone 'neath the moon
as her angelic voice sang a tune.

"OK, OK, OK"  (Joe Pesci - in one of those Lethal Weapon flicks)

I guess I COULD say a LITTLE more.  Craig(Shywolf) did a great review.
He picked me up in the morning, we went to lunch, then to the Greek.
After we parked, we were walking to the ticket window and had to pass by where the busses were parked.  Amy came out of one of them and walked right in front of us, so I said "Hi, Amy" and she said HI to us.  I told her we all love her and that I had seen her a few nights before in Bakersfield with Moscapoet.  She said she had seen us there.  Then she went inside.  So, we continued to the ticket window and there were 2 pit tickets left.  We got one for Craig and Willow arrived just then and got the other one.  Dwight was downtown trying to score front row tickets for me and him from someone on Craigslist, which he did, and he arrived a little later.  While we were waiting for the gates to open, we heard the sound checks - all of Sky, Dawn and Sun, and parts of other songs.  Later, we saw chorus members and others going to and from the busses.  We saw Rachel and Joanne, and Craig was able to send his package in to Ray with them.  Julian came out front and was taking photos, so I asked him for an autograph, he said OK, and OK to photos, too, and we talked to him for about 10-15 minutes until his ride arrived and he had to leave.  We also noticed David walking into the theatre during this time.  We met some other fans and told them about CWF and other forums.  Finally, the gate opened and we went in - I bought water and a shirt.  Craig saw Nicky and talked to him.  We found our seats and talked to other folks around us about CW and CWF.  I met Dianne and Les at this time.  They are very nice.

The High Kings opened again - and were great, as usual.  During their set, there was a spotlight on the far right side of the stage which sometimes pointed directly at Dwight and I, basically blinding us.  Dwight told one of the crew as they were changing the stage for CW and they fixed the problem.  We were in the front row, right in front of the piano.

Then, the CW show started.  There was Mairead, bow in the air with the fog all around.  It was the usual GREAT show, with a few twists.  Each of our ladies was right on all evening, not missing a beat.  During At The Ceili, after Alex and Orla sang their opening parts, they moved over by the piano, Alex close to Ray and Orla near the front of the stage.  As Lynn sings about "Which one do I choose?", I raised my hands to Orla, as if to say "What do you do?" and she smiled and returned the gesture.  Cool!  Thanks, Orla!
We had smiles from the other cast members, too, and from band and chorus members.
The audience was very good at this show and the place was about 98% full.
I noticed one OFG in the front row seemed to be enjoying himself, and was the FIRST one standing at the end of Alex's "THE VOICE".  I think I was second.
Towards the end of the show, when each of the ladies comes out one at a time, they each got good applause from the fans, and when Chloe came out last, there was a HUGE roar, best I've ever heard.  At the very end, EVERYONE was standing!  The whole cast and chorus came to the front of the stage for their final bows with big smiles on their faces.  I still don't know how they can ever top this show!  But, I hope they can.  WOW!!  All of the remarks I've made about Chloe, Mairead, Orla, Lynn and Alex in previous reviews still apply here.  These ladies are GREAT singers and performers and I love them all.

So, the show is over, and we are all standng around talking, and the crew starts cleanup and we have to leave.  As we are walking to the car, we see Ray come out of a bus, and Craig says "Great show, Ray" and "Did you get the package".  Ray says yes and comes over to talk with us for a few minutes.  He signed my CW shopping bag and I took a photo of him and Craig.  He was very nice to spend time with us, then talked to a lady fan for a few minutes, and had to go back inside.  So, we went to the car and Craig took me back to the truck stop.

THANKS, CRAIG, for helping so much to make this a special day for me!

To Craig, Dwight, Rich, Chris, Eric, Mary, Dianne, Les, Mr. Bill, Tammy, Steve, Peggy, and all the others I met that day - It was my pleasure!  You are all great folks!  I hope we can all do this again sometime.

To Celtic Woman - Cast, chorus, band, crew, Rachel and Joanne - You are all THE BEST! and I hope to see you all again soon.  Every minute, every second, has been great!  THANK YOU!!
Special thanks to Amy, Julian, Ray, Nicky, Rachel and Joanne, and to Catrina for that great smile at the end of the show.
And, to CW, Ltd. and David, please find a way to keep Alex with this great group!
She is simply FANTASTIC, as are ALL of your talented members.

To the other members of this Forum - Thank you for your support and patience with me.  I think of you all as friends and hope to meet a lot of you as I travel the country.  (Even 2BOB!)

Also, I need to say something about my friend Moscapoet, who, in at least 2 posts, has said I am a "great guy".  I may be good, very good, or semi-great, but doubt if I've ever been "Great".  Anyway, thanks Moscapoet!

Now, can somebody figure a way to get me out of Laredo?  (I know, take I-35 north.......!)

Very nice review, Jim.  Worth the wait.  Ditto the Alex comments.  (Jim speak.  ;D)

Don't you have one of those neat little 12V DC-120V A/C inverters in your truck so you can stay all charged up?  We had to get one since our laptop, even with the fancy batteries, only lasts (reliably) an hour or so.

Keep up the good work,

Jack

Thanks, 2BOB!  I'm sure if you took more than a month, like I did, you could write a very good review, too!

You never know where I may be - this morning Laredo, tonight San Antonio!  Tomorrow, Waco, at least; maybe Arlington.  I'm still waiting for a delivery appointment.  If I get to Tulsa (and, I have several times before), I will be sure to contact you if I get time.  I'm trying to work my way to the east coast this trip as I'm a little tired of running up and down I-5.  It's boring and bumpy and the truck speed limit is only 55, good for fuel mileage, I guess, but limits the miles you can drive each day, and I get paid by the mile.

I've been lucky to meet several forum members, so far.  (About 16, I think)  And, I've talked to a few more on the phone.  I'd like to meet many more.

Thanks, again, and take care!

Warning: long, multi-part post ahead.

Part 1

May 16-18, 2008.  About time I posted something about that weekend, huh?  Sorry it took me so long.  I’ve had other things on my mind lately.

It was a strange but, in the end, delightful weekend.  I’d had chemo on Thursday, the day before we left, so I was pretty knocked out.  Then my vision started playing tricks on me.  Every so often, especially when I went out in bright sunlight, it seemed like someone had drawn a Venetian blind over my left eye.  It cleared up after a few seconds each time until Saturday morning, when it cleared only halfway.  I was left with a total blind spot, covering the entire bottom half of that eye.  But I wasn’t going to spoil things for everyone, so I kept it to myself.

Friday night, Chris went out with a friend while Eric and I went to dinner and hit the sack early.  Saturday dawned bright and hot, and we all slept in. We’d planned on meeting the gang for lunch before the show, but our wonderful volunteer driver, MaryWillowJeeves, got stuck in some horrendous traffic.  I went outside to watch for her, and – what, to my wondering eyes (or “eye”) should appear – but Dwight!  He’d been sent to pick us up and drive us to the restaurant, since M/W/J was still stranded in a parade of vehicles in the wondrous LA freeway system.  We got to the restaurant and chatted with Dwight, Jim and Craig for quite a while, refusing to order and eat until M/W/J got there.  We were saddened that Diane (LA Girl) wasn’t up to joining us.  Finally M/W/J made it, and we enjoyed a hearty meal and lots of fun, interesting conversation.

Everyone kinda scattered after lunch.  M/W/J drove us back to our hotel to rest a little, while she went to scout out the area and make sure she could find the theater.  I have to say that we couldn’t have asked for a finer chauffer.  M/W/J picked us up right on time, drove to the venue without incident, and dropped us at the curb so we wouldn’t have to walk too far!  The venue is in a spectacular setting, and it’s gorgeous.  I sat down on a shaded bench and rested, while the rest of our troupe went to check the place out (and bring me a cold drink!).

Finally, we went inside and found our seats.  We hadn’t been able to get three adjoining seats; we had two in the pit, but our third seat was a few rows back.  Chris and Eric had determined ahead of time that they’d share the second pit seat – one would sit there until the intermission, and they’d swap for the second half.  The seats were great and the evening was perfect; warm, but nicely cooled by a light breeze.  We finally got to meet Diane and her husband, and chat with them for a few minutes.  They’re a lovely couple, and I hope we get to know them better in the future.

I had been told in advance that we were going to be treated to a little backstage meeting with the girls after the show, so we were all pretty jazzed about that.  But it didn’t diminish our enjoyment of the show one bit.

Part 2

As anyone who’s been to a number of CW concerts can attest, you notice subtle differences from show to show.  On this particular night, for whatever reason, everyone on that stage was at the very top of his or her game.  Maybe they were all just relieved that this was the final stop on this tour, but every song, every note, was perfection.  We showed our love and enthusiasm with cheers, clapping, gestures, standing ovations.  And the performers demonstrated their appreciation with huge smiles, winks, waves, blown kisses; they made us feel like we were almost part of the show.  People around us took note, too.  A couple even asked, “Do you know them?”  To which we replied, “Oh, yeahhhhhhh!!!”  Dear Orlagh – every time I looked at her, she was just beaming at us.  Mairead, Lynn, Chloe, Alex, Nicky, Ray – each of them paid special attention to us.  Even the choir got into the act.  Amy, of course, dazzled us with that million kilowatt smile, and darling little Una ran her a close second.

During the intermission, Chris and Eric swapped seats and I had to visit the “facilities.”  My only complaint with the Greek Theater is that the rest rooms are a Sunday drive from the pit seats.  By the time I returned, Joanne had come out to talk to us, and everyone was getting nervous because I’d disappeared and wasn’t going to get back in time.  But I made it, and we had a delightful chat, and Joanne gave us our backstage passes.  They were adhesive-backed, and we proudly stuck them on our shirts.  The folks seated near us were literally green with envy.

(I need to inject a side note here, and give a tip of the cap to Joanne Ryan.  She is such an asset to CW, and I dearly hope they appreciate her.  I’ve had the good fortune to get to know her pretty well, and she is unerringly sweet, kind, helpful, and a joy to be around.  Celtic Woman Limited – you couldn’t have found a better emissary.  And the dynamic duo – Rachel and Joanne – are two of the finest “cat herders” in the world!  :D )

The second act passed in kind of a blur.  Needless to say, we were looking ahead to our meeting with the girls.  But we still enjoyed the show thoroughly.  I stood to applaud so many times I began to feel like a very old jack-in-the-box.  I honestly didn’t care if anyone else in that theater stood; I was determined I was going to show those wonderful performers how much I appreciated them.  When Alex sang “The Voice” I was out of my seat while she was still holding that magical last note, and she favored me with a beautiful, warm smile in return.  And when they finished their final encore and filed off the stage, there were more waves and blown kisses, and Mairead smiled and raised her bow toward us.

Unbelievable as it may sound, the best was yet to come.

Part 3

Right on schedule, Joanne came out to collect us.  The invitation had only included Chris, Eric and me, but when we mentioned that M/W/J was our “driver” and good friend, and part of our group, Joanne immediately included her without any hesitation.  (This was a HUGE relief!  It just wouldn’t have been the same if she’d been left out.)  Joanne explained that there had been some kind of a contest locally, and that a small group of contest winners would be joining us for the meet-and-greet.  She was very apologetic, but we were fine with it.  Nothing was going to spoil this evening!

Joanne led us down through the catacombs of the Greek Theater, to a small, sparsely furnished meeting room.  We all chatted amiably for a few minutes, and our first visitor arrived – bearing gifts.

No, it wasn’t one of the girls.  It was Nick Bailey.  Thanks in large part to Kelli, I’ve gotten to know Nicky and his lovely bride, Roisin, pretty well.  We’ve exchanged many messages and emails, and they have offered their constant support and prayers throughout my recent health ordeal.  Nick had mentioned that he hoped to get together with us after this concert, and he’s a man of his word.  He walked in, smiling from ear to ear, carrying the little item pictured here.

He’d gotten one of the staff to stencil the silhouette and CW logo on the drumhead, then wrote in the entire set list and a beautiful personal message.  I was overwhelmed.  As you can see, it’s now prominently displayed on my “Celtic wall.”  It’s a gift I’ll cherish forever, just as I cherish the friendship of the man who gave it to me.  Nick sat with us and talked for about fifteen minutes, and he’s so much more than a gifted percussionist.  He’s a warm and wise man with a terrific sense of humor, and we could have talked to him for hours.  But they had a wrap party to attend – this being the end of the tour – and finally Nick had to excuse himself to go get ready.  We let him go – albeit reluctantly – and I stood there gazing in wonder at his gift (and, incidentally, wondering how the heck I was going to get it on the plane to Florida).

Part 4

I had little time to reflect, though, as the ladies filed into the room, almost right on Nick’s heels.  They’d had time to freshen up and change into their party attire, and they were absolutely lovely.  (Yes, they made me wish I were about 30 years younger.)  We mixed and mingled, and it was just delightful to see them so relaxed and totally at ease.  I’ve had the pleasure of attending a number of formal meet-and-greets, and I hope to go to more, but this was an entirely different atmosphere.  This was not a couple of professional performers, still dressed in their second act gowns, dutifully signing autographs and chatting with fans and strangers.  This was a group of friends, completely informal and without pretense, simply having fun and enjoying each other’s company.  Orlagh, in particular, was in her element.  She grasped both my hands and told me how much I meant to her and the rest of CW, begged me to take proper care of myself, and added that I’d been in her thoughts and prayers often.  As you all know by now, Chris is very fond of Mairead, and they talked for quite some time.  (I’ll let him expand on that, if he so chooses.)  Eric and Lynn had a nice conversation.  When he mentioned that he’d just gotten engaged, she said, “Lucky girl.”  That made his night!  We made the rounds, and each of us got plenty of time to talk with each of the ladies.  They made M/W/J feel like part of the family, too, and we were very glad she was there with us.  I’m sorry to say that the “contest winners” got short shrift in all this.  They were very aware that they were witnessing something pretty special, and they were very patient and respectful.  The girls did try to pay some attention to them, introducing themselves and chatting briefly, but they kept gravitating back to us.

(Side note 2: you all know that Lisa is very special to me.  Of course I missed seeing her.  But she’s doing fine and I’m very happy for her.  And don’t let anyone suggest that seeing Alex instead of Lisa was “settling” or anything like that.  Alex is not only a great talent; she’s as sweet a person as you’re likely to meet, any time, anywhere.)

Someone mentioned photographs, and we realized that none of us had a camera.  We had all obeyed the “no cameras” rule to the letter.  Orlagh came to the rescue and produced her own camera, and Joanne volunteered to take some snapshots.  All the performers and fans got into a bunch of group shots.  I’d love to post some of them, but I can’t.  Orlagh hasn’t gotten around to sending them to me yet.  And Orlagh and John are vacationing in France right now, so it may be a while.

All good things must come to an end, and the girls had a party waiting for them.  We exchanged hugs and good wishes, and said a rather lengthy goodbye.  All told, I think we actually spent about forty minutes with them, but it seemed like it was over in seconds.  Joanne even escorted us to the parking lot, since the whole place had been locked up and secured for the night.  M/W/J had gotten a great parking spot, in a lot right outside the theater, so we were at the car in no time.  We saw the cast members getting ready to go to their party, and we all waved one final time.

Naturally, the conversation in the car was spirited and single minded.  We all relived every second of the evening.  We distracted our driver so badly that she got plenty of practice making U-turns.  MaryWillowJeeves had a long trip home ahead of her, but none of us were ready to let the night end yet.  When we got to our hotel, we all stood outside in the parking lot talking for over an hour.  M/W/J graciously agreed to take my souvenir to UPS and ship it to me.  I emailed her my account number as soon as we got home, and my drumhead arrived, in perfect condition, within a couple of days.

I’d like to thank Chris and Eric for being great guys and traveling companions; Mary for being such a good friend and for taking such good care of us (and my drumhead!); Orlagh, Mairead, Lynn, Alex, Chloe, and Nick, for being so generous with their time; and Celtic Woman Ltd for letting it all happen.

Richard:  Reading about that wonderful night put a much-needed smile on my face.   :)  I had a great time with you all before, during and after the concert.

I will never forget what genuine, loving, funny and caring people the ladies of CW are.

Plus, should I ever need to take a driving test again, I will have U-turns down pat!  ;D

Love,

M/J/W  (he he - that made me laugh!)

Well Rich, That was worth the wait!!!   What a truly wonderful night you had.  To say I wish I could have been there is as big an understatement as anyone could ever make. I'm so very glad for you and the others and I KNOW the girls and Nick were more than happy to be able to show you just how much you mean to ALL of us.   And I'll bet you forgot you were tired for a while, huh!!!  I don't think I could have slept any after an evening like that-- but I'm sure you were ready to try.  Next year, friend, I will do my very best to be at the final show of the season ( No, I don't expect to accompany you to the meeting after--that should always be something JUST for you!! )
Great review of the show-- but the REAL show was after.  Congratulations and I'll see ya soon!! ( I hope!!! LOL )

Gary

Rich,

Les and I enjoyed meeting you, Chris, and Eric, too. Hopefully, we'll get to meet up again at the taping. Your posts described the concert to a "t". I noticed that the girls  were looking at, winking, and blowing kisses your way, and I can only imagine how thrilled you must have felt.

I'm not surprised at Orlagh's warmth, since I have heard her praised so many times for being such a loving, genuine person. Please congratulate Eric on his engagement.

Stay well,

Dianne

Rich,

THANK YOU so much for sharing that with us. What an experience you had, especially with the girls after the show. I can't imagine being in a situation like that, how wonderful. It was amazing to read so thank you for posting all of it! Like Diane said, I'm not surprised by Orlagh. She seems to be one of the kindest, warmest people alive! Not a surprise! Also, good to hear that Chris was able to talk to Máiréad a lot. I know how much he adores her so that's wonderful!  :D Great, great post.

Also, congrats to Eric on his engagement!

Oh, Rich, what fun to read!  I'm continually impressed with Nicky, Róisín, Órlagh, and everyone within Celtic Woman.  I hope to be able to see those snapshots that are on Órlagh's camera one day!  Joanne and Rachel are so wonderful, and it was great of Joanne to escort you outside.

Eric, congratulations to you!

Chris, I know Mairead made your evening!

Thank you, Rich, for sharing so much of your night with us.

Love you!
Kelli

PS I hereby volunteer to drive you to your next backstage event  :D ;D

Rich!!!

WOW!!! What a wonderful ,memorable evening that must have been for you and your sons. I can't think of anyone who deserved that kind of attention from the CW crew as much as you. You have given so much of your time and effort to the forum.
Is it any wonder that I love Orlagh as much as I do?? She is just a very, very special lady. And I agree that Joanne is a definite asset to CW Ltd. as is Rachel.

Chris  - so glad you got to spend some time with Mairead.
Eric - congratulations on your engagement. I wish you much happiness and love.
Mary ( Willow/Jeeves) - thanks for taking care of " the boys ".

Kelli - If you drive Rich, I will navigate. LOL

Thank you Jim M and OFG for your LA Greek Theatre Performance reports. It’s never too late to write of the joy of Celtic Woman, what an outstanding Organization CW LTD is and the fine people that make it so!  :D

Your narratives are rich with fascinating detail. So good of them to adjust that spotlight Jim M and I can picture Òrla responding to your gesture in kind. She is such a treasure! The events Rich recounts exceed my expectations. What a grand night you all had!

Congrats to Eric for his engagement and the complement from Lynn! What class she has and what a talent!

You’re right-on in writing that Joanne is delightful.  ;) I had the privilege of meeting Joanne at the Sacramento ’08 Performance. With direct eye contact she spoke with me as if I was the only guy in the auditorium. Her genuine kindness and interest in me took my breath away. Frankly, I wasn’t prepared to be so warmly engaged. I think I recovered enough to not make a total fool of myself. She accepted my stack of thank you cards with grace and humility. Wow! I still experience joy thinking about those moments talking with her and confidence the cards were safe with her until she could deliver them.

Good to know Òrla and John are vacationing. I hope they are having the best time, a safe time.

I hope the entire Casts and Crew are having the most wonderful summer and good R&R before getting ready for Europe. And I wish Alex every blessing from above as she goes on her way. Alex, you're fabulous!  :D

Better late than never, right?  At long last, here is the best of the group photos from last year's Greek Theater meeting with the girls.

What a great night!  That's me on the left trying not to pass out (hence the glazed look in my eyes - lol).  I just remembered that I managed to not make a complete fool out of myself, but each of the ladies was sooo nice and approachable.  The whole evening will go down as one of the awesomest for me (and a complete surprise!)  Of course I did manage to get a little lost (love those U-turns) driving Rich, Chris and Eric back to their hotel.   :D
