Just a couple of days until PBS makes the list of it's winter offerings available to its affiliate stations--then things will really get exciting!!  Wink Cool

I'm placing a formal letter to KNPB Reno, Nevada in snail mail today. I plagiarized much of Zee’s sample letter.  Wink Thank you Zee! Cheesy To dress up the appeal I also included some eye candy... one copy of an Órla Card.  Wink Thank you Bruce!  Cheesy

I have high expectations for KNPB doing the right thing.  Wink Wink Wink

(Although I'm disappointed in them airing Music of Ireland Welcome Home at 0400 hrs earlier this year.)

Your letter served as the skeleton for my letter too, Zee!  Thank you so much for thinking to do that, facilitating our outpouring to PBS at this critical scheduling time and avoiding what otherwise would have produced some procrastination in some, total failure to act in others!   Cool Cool Cool

Hello Zee,

Not only is WVIZ in Cleveland going to show the special, but I received this from Robin today:

Hey Tom,

Not only will we be airing the new Orla Fallon show, she will be here in-studio!  The date hasn’t been scheduled yet, but please put the word out that we’d welcome fans to volunteer to answer pledge phones when Orla’s here.  If anyone’s interested, refer them to me and I’ll pass their names on to our volunteer coordinator.

Thanks!

Guess who may have to go work the phones that night?

Thanks,

If anyone is interested? IS ANYONE INTERESTED!!!!!!   Shocked Cheesy  That part cracks me up. Cheesy Robin must have a great sense of humor.  Wink

When I first saw your post Tom I thought, "man I would give anything to volunteer for that". But then I realized I would find myself listening only to Órla and not my callers!  Grin

I got this response from PBA30 in Atlanta:

                    Hi, Joe!
We love Orla too at WPBA and, as you know, really enjoyed providing that special PBA Exclusive concert
with her last year at our beautiful Atlanta Botanical Garden! So, anytime we can have Orla back, we will!
I have a call in to her management already, and am hoping to hear back to see what we can do!
Keep your eye on our schedule after Thanksgiving, so hopefully she will be there!
Thanks for supporting, and watching Atlanta’s PBS station!

Wow! Now that's my kind of reply!   Thanks for sharing it with us, Joel!  I'll wager from this that the folks in Atlanta are going to be treated to Orla's special--maybe multiple times!   Grin Grin Grin
I guess that means I will be getting a hotel room in Atlanta just to watch the show.
Birmingham is not showing it !!!! Undecided
It would be great if WPBA had Orla as a guest on the night they air the concert!!!  Promote her Christmas CD !
Wishful thinking on my part! Roll Eyes

The PBS station in Sacramento will be hosting Orlaghs Special in the NOV timeframe. They stated they will keep me posted and let me know when the pledge drive goes on. I also Volunteered  to be in studio to recieve pledges. WOOOOOO! Man Christmas will be here before we know it.
Orlagh Rocks!!!
