Another small item.  Some of our members will be delighted at this piece of news.  I've learned from the lady herself that she is, indeed, a fluent Irish speaker.  In fact, she thinks that she and Méav attended the same school.

That's cool, Rich. Thanks for sharing. I wish I could speak Gaelic fluently.

If they went to the same school, I'd assume they speak it almost identically.

Rich, you speak english?  Grin

I am thinking that rua and Maggie are going to start teaching us Irish. I did see a Gaelic language book/cd at Barnes & Noble last week.

As for the accent, I didn't pick up that much of an accent from Lisa. Now Chloe seems to have the most accent. I know some Irish intentionally lose their accent and others couldn't lose it if they tried. My Grandfather lost his as did one assistant pastor. Another pastor's (Jim Maloney) not only had an accent but pronounced latin with a deep brogue.

Listening to Anuna CD I noticed that one of the girls has a distinct accent

Im glad to know Lynn knows her Irish........ Id be REALLY crushed if we were to lose out on some more songs sung in Irish.

As for Zankokus post...... pm me and I will try to teach you the little I know of the language if you like.
Also.... you dont think Orlagh has an Irish accent?... to me it seems like she has a really distinctive accent....... even for someone who talks a mile a minute (I have to almost press my ear to the speaker to hear her at times with my good ear)

What I found from Orla was a very soft voice and my hearing is not all that it should be. i have a hard time with real soft sweet voices, especially outdoors next to a busy road..
