Kiss on teh cheek as in European style. BTW I have been married 35 years.

That comes under the things I was taught

A lady initiates the hand shake

Give your seat up in a crowded (bus, room, etc) Unless you are the driver.

Open doors for a lady

Let a lady enter and exit an elevator first.

Take your hat off in an elevator.

Tip your hat to a lady

Let the lady walk thru a minefield first

Stand when a lady comes to your table unless she is teh waitress

You snuck that one in, didn't you? Grin

I guess that only applies if the lady is not Lynn Hilary? Or any of our Celtic ladies?

How can this be? I thought Maggie was a lawyer. <ducks fast>

Maggie?  A lawyer??  Boy, you'd better duck!   Cheesy

HOW DID I MISS THESE COMMENTS? Huh

Me - a Lawyer? I don't know whether to get mad or cry!  Angry Cry

Where you might have got that idea is, I'm a Florida Notary Public.
In the UK and probably in British Commonwealth Countries, to be a Notary you also have to be a Solicitor / Attorney / Lawyer.
All you need in the United States is to have no criminal record, pass the Notary test, and follow the guidelines. Ethics and integrity come in handy too.

However, my lovely daughter-in-law really is "in-law"......she is a Barrister in London.

But the practice of Law in England is a whole different ball game.

Sorry, Lynn Hilary.....but I couldn't let that "lawyer" comment go, you understand.....
And I think you are super, by the way.

About accents, guys.....we ALL have an accent, you too.
An individual accent not only comes from where you are from, it comes from family and those around you as you grow. It can also evolve due to circumstances and change of location.
I haven't heard Lynn speak yet, but I'm sure she has a delightful accent.

Seriously, I just got the idea from a number of comments made over time. I was confused though when you said that you respond to emergencies to actually help victims. A lawyer responds to emergencies to sue those responsible. (and make a LOT of money in contingency fees!)  Cheesy

Now how to tie this in with Lynn to keep it on topic and not get into the dog house from straying? Meav has a law degree, to my knowledge Lynn doesn't?   Cheesy

I would guess that those who are single just tell their fans that they have boyfriends. That would be the quick and easy way to shoo off pursuers without causing much trouble or hurting feelings.

Anyway, single women always seem to be married as soon as I hit on them.  Cry
