It's a thread that I hope will delight. Pairs of verses you type as you might; Leave the finishing three To another, you see, Who another beginner will write. --------------------------------------------------------------- So then, to perchance break the ice, This couple of lines would be nice?

For to write a limerick takes skill, and a certain strength of will, to not write something that would get you killed! ________________________________________________ There once was a group called Celtic Woman, whose members were constantly moving,

The beauty of the land o'er there will cause a multitude to stare, Now, wouldn't that be grand!
I saw an old fellow walking; he was wearing only one stocking!

spins, axles, & leaps, chirps, grace notes, & peeps, and wonderous laser-light swirls.
A fiddler whose name was Mairead leapt all 'round the stage as she played...

Light as the air, as she danced everywhere, Ah, such a sweet sound she made!
Take me away to a place that's encircled with beauty and grace...

Where we can see Méav's face and cure ailments of the human race, with the pure sound of her voice!
On the way over there, I met a woman that gave me a stare...

Chloe is so romantic to me. She sings my favorite rhapsody That I really always know. I have her in my heart And I hope she will not break apart.

Off topic, but only slightly. Okay, gang, I admit to being a little anal about poetry. And yes, even the limerick qualifies as poetry. If you're going to write them, you might as well do it right. A limerick is typically a humorous, rhymed poem of five lines, using the rhyme scheme A-A-B-B-A. Example: I love to see the morning sun, that's how I tell the day's begun. Birds all singing a happy song, it is the place where I belong. Far from school, without the nun. Carry on.

Well, the first "A"s in anapests go (In triameter, just so you know ), Then two more for the B And two others, y'see, Then three anapests more, just like so. Now a couple of verses I'll throw So this game may continue to grow...

Don't know where it's leading, Or if it's succeeding. But onward and upward we go.
