Has anyone listened to Milla Jovovich (model/actress/designer) ? You wouldn't think that a model turned actress (She starred in the Fifth Element, and the Resident Evil movies) would produce an album worth listening to. However, her 1994 album "The Divine Comedy" was actually VERY good, and recieved critical aclaim. She has a lovely versatile, soft yet rich voice. The music is mostly accoustic, and very unique, mixing pop with Ukranian folk influences (she was born in the Ukraine)
I'm telling you, it is gorgeous music (even has a little Irish folk feel to several songs) and you should check it out!!

I love Eva Cassidy's music. What an amazing artist. From Wikipedia:Eva Marie Cassidy (February 2, 1963 in Washington, DC – November 2, 1996 in Bowie, Maryland) was an American vocalist described by the British newspaper The Guardian as "one of the greatest voices of her generation." She had a diverse repertoire of jazz, blues, folk, gospel and pop. Cassidy remained virtually unknown outside of her native Washington, DC, when she died of melanoma in 1996. However, her posthumously released recordings have since sold in excess of four million copies, and in early 2001 the compilation album Songbird reached #1 on the UK album charts. Here's a link to her breathtaking cover of "Fields of Gold" by Sting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRg3CNbCfNs

Have any of you heard of Joshua Bell? wow, that man can play! When he was little he stretched rubberbands on his dresser drawer and slid the drawers back and forth to make them play. He's parents saw and quickly got him in violin lessons. He is now 40 years old (or soon to be) and he is awesome! In my book he is as great as Mairead! He is hard to find, had to buy online to get one of his cds. If you have a chance you can hear a bit of his music at his website www.joshuabell.com Jami

Country Gal, Moment Magazine just had a wonderful article on Joshua Bell in their August/September 2007 issue. You might be able to find it online.

By the way, since we talk a lot about beautiful and talented women - although this one is definitely not Irish - today is Faith Hill's birthday.

Oh, oh! Thanks for letting me know! And Rich, thanks for the link! It's a long article, have to finish it tomorrow. I did notice that the mention Antonio Stradivari which is the violin he plays. We have a very nice wind-chime that is a Stradivarious. It's heavenly to listen too! I would like to get the giant one. Jami *who falls asleep at night listening to Joshua*
