Soothing Sounds from Anuna’s Gill

“HEARING a beautiful song opens people’s heart.” It’s the first thing Fionnuala Gill says when asked to describe Whispers of Love, her first solo album. If you choose to buy this CD, and I would advise you to do so, then you can prepare for open heart surgery in the process.

I chose to buy this CD on iTunes.   It gently opened my heart.  It is like a soothiing balm for the soul.  Thank you, Fionnuala!

Also, thank you Rich for posting this.   Smiley

My dear friend Luan Parle was honored by winning in the "Best Female" category in the BalconyTV music video awards last night! They'll have tape of the event posted on their site in a couple of days, so check back.

Here's my list of music artists that I love:

Classical (Hayley Westenra)

Celtic (Celtic Woman; Chloë Agnew, Hayley Westenra, Lisa Kelly, Máiréad Nesbitt, Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, Órla Fallon)

New Age (Dan Gibson, Anúna)

Pop & Rock (Backstreet Boys, N*SYNC, 98°, Aly & AJ, Ashlee Simpson, The A-Teens, BBMak, Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood, Cascada, Christina Aguilera, Drake Bell, Evanescence, Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney, JoJo, Kelly Clarkson, Lindsay Lohan, M2M, Mandy Moore, Miley Cyrus, Savage Garden, Switchfoot, Vanessa Carlton, Vanessa Hudgens, Jessica Simpson)

Instrumental (Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Nobuo Uematsu, Klaus Badelt)

Instrumental/Nature Music (Dan Gibson)

I also got into another singer last week who's from Australia named "Kate Alexa." She sings the soundtrack to a Nickelodeon show called "H2O: Just Add Water." She sounds like an Australian version of Hilary Duff.

I like it, Inga.  I see he's an Idol contestant from… Germany?  I am guessing.  Do you know more about him?

I like the Irish girl who was on American Idol last season - Carley Smithson, if I remember correcly.  She has a fabulous voice - light rock I would say, but she can belt out anything, any category !  She was the one with dark, longish hair and some tatoos - she and her husband own a tatoo shop in San Diego.  She is on tour at the moment with the American Idol folks, but come the fall I think we will hear a lot from her.  I am sure someone will give her a contract.   Also I like Enya,  but I am still partial to 50's and 60's artists, especially The Everly Brothers.

If anyone here likes Medieval Turkish and Balkan sounds, or would like to explore it, have a listen to 'Stellamara' ( http://www.last.fm/music/Stellamara )...they are that rare thing - a band I love more than CW  Wink
