I am having a great day, guys! I've just discovered two new artists & before I've even clicked the "purchase" button in iTunes, I can already tell they are going to become favorites of mine. Today, Pandora radio played a song for me by Becky Taylor, a singer I'd never heard of. I loved the sound of her voice, so I went looking for her on iTunes and discovered Becky Taylor, an Irish musician. Suspecting they were different people, I consulted my friend Google, and indeed, they are different artists, but both are amazing women I think CW fans will love! Becky Taylor #1 (who now goes by Becky Jane Taylor - wonder if the other Becky is the reason?) Clips from her current CD are on her site: http://ecards.emiclassics.co.uk/becky1/index.htm(I already have favorites! I've had the clip of By Your Side on repeat while typing this - so gorgeous!) Clips from her first CD are on Pandora: http://www.pandora.com/music/album/becky+taylor/dream+come+trueBoth are on iTunes (the first, under Becky Taylor - a partial album; the more recent release under Becky Jane Taylor), as well. Becky Taylor #2On CD Baby: http://cdbaby.com/cd/beckytaylorAlso available on iTunes. In case you couldn't tell, I am thrilled with these ladies! Go listen - you won't be sorry!

Inga, Fady has a fantastic voice. I think I will get his CD when it comes out.
Lapluie, I checked out Stellamara. They're good, too. Maybe a bit too... something for me. I would say too slow, but then, I really enjoy slower songs from singers like Hayley & Lynn. Just not so much singers like Enya and *ducks* Meav on her solo CDs (please don't throw things - I loved her with CW!).
I don't know how to put into words the difference... they all sing slow songs, but somehow the second type is more... relaxed?
Any suggestions for describing the difference?

Haha, thanks for checking them out - I think the word you're trying to think of is 'Ambient'? I'm hardly a music expert myself. I would perhaps say that Stellamara's music contains more of historical and religious influences. And of course the fact that I can't understand a word of what they're saying. But who cares, it's lovely stuff, and I love them anyway

thanks for checking them out
No problem. I've actually checked out almost all the artists in this thread - I started last week, going back to page 1 to see what gems I could turn up. So far, I've really liked Margrét Eir & Fady (forgot the last name already) - pretty sure they will both find their way into my music collection. Oh, and both girls named Una that were recommended (by Rich, I think). I really like them, too.

Hayley is the one on the left, by the way. I listen mostly to Hayley, Celtic Woman, Celtic Thunder, All Angels (classical crossover, much like Hayley's style of music) ( www.allangelsofficial.com), Elizabeth Marvelly (also similar to Hayley, they have both sung I Dreamed a Dream and Pokarekare Ana and are Kiwis) ( www.elizabethmarvelly.com), and eScala from Britian's Got Talent 2008. I also really like Natalie MacMaster ( www.nataliemacmaster.com). Does anyone reccomend any classical crossover leaning towards classical artists? (not Josh Groban)

Here's a really nice article about Catrina, from the Ballymena Times: BALLYMENA soprano Catrina Scullion has been steadily making a name for herself as a talented singer - and now she is to star in a concert in her home town. Click for more....
