I've recently discovered a band called Libera, it's a choir group of young boys and some of their stuff is lovely, Iv'e got their albums 'New dawn' and 'Luminosa' and I love them, esp their version of 'In parasidum'

My most recent artist is Emmy Rossum.  Most might recognize her as Christine from the movie Phantom of the Opera, and she has been in a bunch of little parts in other movies/shows.  Her album has been out since 2007.
Since finding her, I've done a little research on her and been very impressed with what I have found (15 years old via online extension courses offered by Stanford University's Education Program for Gifted Youth, she studies at Columbia University, and is a YouthAIDS ambassador).  Her lyrics are emotionally honest, and her while her music is not in the same style as the classical soprano she played in Phantom, her voice holds such power that it's almost classical pop (I know, weird association).  Her myspace page has the most music on it.

Reaction on CWF when Isle of Hope CD comes out

« Reply #184 on: October 16, 2008, 01:55PM »

ladernierenuit:  I love Emmy Rossum's music!  Her CD "Inside Out" is great.  She also has a Christmas EP on iTunes called "Carol of the Bells".

Songs are:
Carol of the Bells (I know, that one's a given)
O Holy Night
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Very different arrangements than CW, especially Carol of the Bells.  Very enjoyable!

Chris and I are going to try to get up to Savannah on November 4 to see my friend, the lovely and talented Marina V.

Some of you may remember the fiasco I lived through when I went to see her in Reno.  That trip will live forever in my blog.

Check out 'Vox Angeli' They just came out with their first album not too long ago. They are a young French vocal group with excellent voices and beautiful music, but it's all in French, except for one song called 'The Scientist' which is a 'Coldplay' cover. Very nice, preciousss! oh yesss very nice! Gollum!

Marina's seen my OFG shirt, so I left it home.  Besides, it was chilly in Savannah last night!
