I did a bit of browsing around Amazon & iTunes the other day & found some amazing artists!

Emma Shapplin (sort of opera meets techno):
http://www.amazon.com/Etterna-Emma-Shapplin/dp/B0000DZ3EZ/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1226482785&sr=8-2
(No sound clips there, but you can hear her here: http://www.etterna.org.ar/)

Victoria Hart (modern jazz):

(No sound previews there, but you can hear the title track here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FyA4mrIn_k)

Breathtaking young English soprano Phillippa (Pippa) Lusty!  On MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/pippalusty and on the 'net at http://phillippalusty.com/.

Her voice reminds me of Sasha Lazard's.  Very nice.

I must admit, though, the name Lusty isn't very assuring.  Had anyone else linked me to her page, I'd have probably backed out, for fear of porn taking over my screen.   Sad

Synergy Brass Quintet is an awesome ensemble from Boston, MA. Two Trumpets, Trombone, French Horn, and Tuba.  They came to my school and played for our band class today, what awesome people. I bought their new christmas album that they let us buy, but isn't supposed to be released until after Thanksgiving. Wink and I say you should check it out, it's awesome stuff. They also have a podcast on itunes. Smiley

I've just found an exciting young violinist named Fiona Pears.  She's a native New Zealander, and she classifies her music as Folk / Jazz / Acoustic.  Check her out on MySapce or her web site.

I have read that Guns-N-Roses new CD entitled Chinese Democracy has indeed been finally released but is only available at Best Buy.

While looking at the Celtic Collections website the other day I came across their newest artist (although not new to the industry at all!) to sign:  Cathy Maguire.  Her new CD comes out in January 2009.  Also of interest is that she opened for The High Kings on their tour from this fall.

Bonnie McKee will be appearing on this week's episode of CSI:NY - on CBS at 10 PM Eastern and Pacific.

A word of caution - Bonnie is not for the faint of heart!   Cheesy  She's kinda flashy, sassy, sexy, and enormously talented.  But she can sometimes be "R" rated!

Check her out on her MySpace or her official site.

It's awfully late now, but I just learned of this.  If anyone's in the West Palm Beach area and looking for something to do tonight - the Dublin Symphony Orchestra is appearing in concert at the Kravis Center.

No problem, Rich.  I was really glad to find that myself.  I had my computer all set with a reminder alarm  for Wednesday night, had it all planned to watch the show, and what happens?  I get home from grocery shopping at 4 p.m. to find a message on my answering machine from the girl who was scheduled to work (at 4 p.m., mind you) saying she had gotten hurt during the day and could I work for her?  I tried to set up my DVD recorder to record it for me, but when I got home, it had not worked so I was not all that happy *lol*

The internet is a great thing when you know where to look, isn't it?
