Mediaeval Baebes are here in town Friday night. Its an unusal venue. Some type of arts center I never heard of. NOT the typical perfomring arts venue. It may even be outdoors in a park area, which means its gonna rain for sure Friday night since I want to go!  Cheesy But its only like a mile away. Plus its only $5! Cant beat the price.

I have done some research on the Baebes and watched some YouTube stuff. But if anyone has an opinion on them, please let me know. It seems they are fairly well known and established, yet why play at a lesser known venue for almost free?      Seems strange.  Undecided   Huh

I know they have been mentioned in this thread before, but I really like The Corrs.  I especially love this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FrSsF7SJm4

According to the description, they are playing "to 43,000 fans at Lansdowne Road, Dublin's old Rugby fields in 2000."  The part from 2:30 to 2:50 brings me to tears.  The audience shows their love for the band by singing, quite well if I may add, the lyrics when Andrea Corr stops.  That moment, and her response, touched me more than any other musical performace I have seen that did not have Celtic Woman on stage.  I wish I knew how to touch Celtic Woman's hearts this much during a show and let them know how much we love them.  Okay, I'll stop with the mushy stuff now.

Wink  Anybody on Forum a  Chris Botti fan???

One note: There is a beautiful outdoor Theater in Oregon...Southern Oregon, I think...
and we were all seated in the beautiful out of doors in the evening time....and one of the songs
was "We'll all go together  to pull the Wild Mountain Thyme...all around the Purple heather....
will ye, go, Laddie?  Go?...it was so beautiful and they sang it for quite a while...one of the
most beautiful group songs I have ever heard...and they would point to different sections and
           tell the others to hum....so beautiful...and I cannot remember the artist's that evening...but won't
           forget the beautiful song..

An artist I really love is Imogen Heap.  I'm sure some of you have heard of her.  She used to be in a group called the Frou Frou.  I first heard her in "The Holiday," one of my all-time favorite movies.  They played a song called "Just for Now" and "Let Go."  "Let Go" is such an amazing song.  She is one of those that, when you first hear the songs, you think, "Man that was weird."  But, let me tell, she is addicting!  Her song "Hide and Seek" is really weird.  My sister first heard it and then had me listen to it.  I thought it was so strange.  The next thing I know, I can't stop listening to it!!  We got one of our friends addicted to it, too!  If you ever have the time, you should definitely look her up.  Listen to "Let Go!!!!"   Smiley

A live version of "Wander my Friends" from what Jim would call GINO (That would be Sci-Fi's Battlestar Galactica; or is that Siffy now?).  Part of the concert series they came up with to display some of the music (yes video and photos were allowed, even encouraged)

They also have an interesting version of "All Along the Watchtower"

going back to the norwegien musical scene, i REALLY recommend christine guldbrandsen. she reminds me a bit of lynn in her singing. you can only find her cds on her site. listen to the excerpts on her site, she's got some lovely songs

also as i was threading back through the topic, i noticed someone mentioned some older singers like nat king cole and frank sinatra. one older singer i'm listening to a lot is lena horne, hoping that someone likes her too.
also i will put some other recommendations on here. i love ishtar, a middle eastern singer who sings a fusion of french, spanish, herbew and arabic. she is one of my favourites, i really recommend her. she has fabulous songs

As a former model and actress (e.g. MariMar, Rosalinda) "Thalia" meanwhile is in Latin-America, Asia and the United States a mega-star. Unfortunately in Europe and especially Germany almost nobody takes notice of her. Due to this reason it's very hard to get one of her overwhelming CDs or DVDs in this countries.

At my 'YouTube-Chanel' I've set up a playlist with some assorted video-clips about her that should reflect Thalia's repertory and mettle. For myself "No Me Ensenaste" will always the best what she ever had done and published!

I would be very happy, and of course Thalia too, if there'll be some people find the way to her 'Official Site'. There're lots of actual informations and background infos about this unique mexican multi-talent!

Has anyone heard of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra? I came across them on Amazon and can't quite make up my mind about them. I kinda like them.
