Siobhan Owen has been nominated for the Best Instrumentalist Award on the UK Classical-Crossover website at http://www.classcross.com/. I'd encourage our members to vote for her.

Thanks to Órlagh's special, I've started checking out David Archuleta and Mark Wills their music, and wow, these guys are great!  They have fantastic voices. (Not to mention David is changing in a quite good looking guy   Roll Eyes He still does have a bit silly but cute innocence though  Grin

I got Loreena's newsletter this morning as well!!!!! I am really excited about the new CD and they also mentioned an upcoming tour!! I missed her the last time around in the States. I am hoping US dates will be included on the tour because I SO want to see her in concert!!

Wow, I missed the bit on the new tour, I hope she comes to the states too! Cheesy  When was the last time she toured the U.S?  I remember that she came to a theatre close to where I lived, but--thanks to classes--I couldn't attend. Sad

I'm all but positive Loreena and her incredible band last toured the US in 2007. I hope this means she is due to return!  Grin

I adore the Indigo Girls, dunno if a lot of people still listen to them. Their song 'Ghost' is absolutely wonderful. Of course, 'Closer to Fine' is fab as well Cheesy

Yep, she rocks!  Grin

Of of my all-time favorite artists is Mark Masri. He is an incredible singer, he writes most of the time his own songs and is a very kind and gentle guy.

I first discovered him in Beautiful World, the Jim Brickman show were Órla appeared as well.

To get you in the christmas mood.. I wouldn't mind if I would get him for christmas  Roll Eyes ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWe7oWOefd4&feature=related

His performance of his song 'The Face': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd6auLCodEc

The late Eva Cassidy has been mentioned a number of times in a variety of topics on this Forum. But I haven’t seen any quick links to her music. I would like to provide some youtube links to her covers CW fans will be familiar with:

Fields of Gold (live):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGwDYBWEDSc
(The images that accompany this slide show are breathtakingly beautiful.)

Danny Boy:

True Colours:

Somewhere Over the Rainbow:

Eva Cassidy (unofficial) Website:

Please respect that Ms Cassidy passed away of melanoma at a mere 33 years of age in November of 1996. What a terrible loss for her family, fans and the world of music.

Thank you for those links! Hadn't heard Danny Boy yet. I actually like her cover of Fields of Gold over Lisa's since I prefer it as an lullaby.

I agree, Eva Cassidy was such a lovely and very talented singer. It's terrible she died so young.

How odd are you are when you're a teen and love 'oldies' like Elton John and Phil Collins? Love these two guys.. they've composed lots of wonderfull and memorable songs!  Smiley
