Saw Destiny In Phoenix last week.  They are using his arrangements still.  His work is timeless.  Would love to work with him sometime.

David Downes:
  • A brilliant composer.
  • An artistic genius.
  • Uniquely gifted at finding and recruiting talent.
  • A visionary musical director.

Your vision has brought joy to so many lives.

Thank you for introducing us to such wonderful people and for assembling the most amazing group of women I've ever known.

Thank you for letting them shine as individuals and most of all for the blissful harmony as they perform together!

Looks like all's not necessarily well.  I post this not to stir up trouble, but because it is already spreading on social media.  If there's going to be litigation in the public eye, this forum should be aware of it.

I can't read the full article, but this doesn't look good. Despite that, the article is comparably old.

Yes, I actually came across a few of those a while ago but since I couldn't read the full article or confirm its content from another source, I decided not to mention it.

Business and legal matters can be ugly. I'd rather focus on the music and the amazing people involved.

I'm going to ask a tough question. Maybe it's be answered before but...

If Dave K. And Sharon Browne had put together Celtic Woman without David Downes (let's say they ended up assembling the same original girls), do you think Celtic Woman would still have become a success?

I mean they're all fantastic singers, obviously. But without David Downes, do you think they would have sounded as good as they did together that first night when the magic happened? Do you think they would have caught on without his epic orchestration and choir arrangements?

I mean he really found a way to get the most out of every sound.

Destiny and now Voices of Angels sound beautiful, no doubt. And brand  new fans have fallen in love with the new music before they even know about the "Classic" Celtic Woman cast or its sound.

But if, for argument's sake, Destiny (as good as it was) was the very first Celtic Woman show on Sept. 15, 2004, would we still be talking about Celtic Woman today?

Hmm, I wonder...
