For anyone who hasn't been watching the news, the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore was taken a direct hit from a large, wedge tornado that was close to 2 miles wide at one point; likely an EF-5. Buildings have been leveled and many have scrubbed to the foundation. This includes houses, businesses, a hospital, and at least two elementary schools. The grass along the tornadoes route was removed as well, leaving only dirt behind. The current damage estimate is 30-40 square miles. Four fatalities have been confirmed so far including at least one child, but this number will likely grow. Watching now -- thanks for the links -- weatherman said it was on the ground for 20 miles.  I've seen these and the damage they can do before. If I lived in that area, I would want to have an underground house. |

KFOR is reporting that at least 7 children died in the Plaza Towers Elementary School, drowned in the basement, and that up to 30 are missing and feared dead.

I'm sure the buildings will be repaired, and the people,especially the children will heal. Those who died are also at peace, and not hurting or afraid anymore. I promise. You're so thoughtful Kimberly |
