I watched it the other day (the whole show) and when seeing this song I thought to myself. Lisa had fun singing that song. You could see it in her face and in her movement around the stage.

Sorry for bringing this old thread up (especially since that is discouraged in Forum Decorum)
but I really wanted to know....
Could someone help me find the lyrics to this song please? I've looked and can't find them.

Here you go. I might be off by a few words, though.
Green The Whole Year Round
My true love sits in a forest glade In the springtime’s golden light The flowers they dance in the in the gentle breeze And the warm sun shines so bright. And of all the flowers in the forest And all the trees that do abound, The ones that please my heart the most Are green the whole year round
Green the whole year round Green the whole year round The holly yew and the ivy tree Are green the whole year round
When summer comes and the days are hot And the birds are full of song In the quiet shade Of that leafy glade That is where my heart belongs For I know whenever I look for you That is where you can be found As you take your ease ‘Neath your favorite trees That are green the whole year round
Green the whole year round Green the whole year round The holly yew and the ivy tree Are green the whole year round
But the summer fades And the days grow short And the autumn winds they blow And the leaves of gold come tumbling down To the forest far below Memories of other days Come tumbling from the past To remind us like the seasons do That life goes by so fast
Winter lays her fingers cold On dark and lonely nights But Christmas it will soon be here To usher in the light And when morning breaks And the bells ring out It is such a joyous sound To hear ‘em echo in the trees That are green the whole year round
Green the whole year round Green the whole year round The holly yew and the ivy tree Are green the whole year round (x2)

Thank you celtic_angel90. I knew the lyrics to Lisa's "Green The Whole Year Round" ... except for, after ... (where she sings, near the end of the song) ...
Winter lays her fingers cold On dark and lonely nights But Christmas it will soon be here To usher in the light And when morning breaks And the bells ring out It is such a joyous sound ...
The last line or 2 after that, I never did get.
Thanks again. I appreciate you posting the lyrics to the entire number.
... Bill

I just thought I would throw my 2 cents in about this song.
I have been listening to it a lot lately and I feel a rush of emotion everytime I hear its familiar beginning strains. I think for some reason its beauty triggers a release in me that lets me feel whatever I want to feel, which is always helpful. I can't explain why it works for me that way, it just does, and I think that's a really special ability for a song to have. Thank you, Lisa, and David.

When you think of me sing a heart-spun song When it's over, sing it once more. When you dream of me dream when I'll meet you on that distant shore.

I agree with you Siobhan. This song has become very special for me seeing as I've lost many people I love and the line "That life goes by so fast" gets me every time. It reminds me that I have to live like they wanted me to, without dwelling in the past.

That's why I turned the captioning on when I grabbed this image..... I LOVE Lisa's expression! Brad T
