Given that Katherine Jenkins is Welsh and that she has sung many Welsh and Irish songs in the past, I post this here. The moderators can put that topic in another place if they see fit.
For starters, as many of you have heard, the Welsh songbird has recently (September 27th) married her fiancé, director Andrew Levitas. I wish them a very long and very happy marriage.
Second, her new album, "Home Sweet Home", is scheduled for November 10th 2014. And there's one track on it that I have wished for her to record since I became a fan. Yes, the first track is the Welsh (and Breton) anthem "Land of my Fathers", that she sings in Welsh (but not in Breton
). The full track list is :
1. Land Of My Fathers
2. Beethoven's Ode To Joy (with David Garrett)
3. Sanctus (Elgar's Nimrod)
4. Barcelona (with Alfie Boe)
5. Dreaming of the Days (Einaudi's I Giorni)
6. World in Union
7. Segreti (One Republic's Secrets)
8. Remember (Bach's Goldberg Variations)
9. We'll Gather Lilacs
10. How Great Thou Art
11. Home! Sweet Home!
12. Anthem from Chess
13. We Are The Champions
iTunes add the following in the "Deluxe Edition" :
14. Silent Night
15. Amigos Para Siempre
16. The Moon Represents My Heart
17. Home
Of course, I already have it on pre-order. You can find extracts of the first eight (so far) tracks on her YouTube channel :
