Alex Lynn as next guest DVD, Susan LL next Castle

So you do check out Alex's tweets for anything new like a hawk even before discovering of CaraNua? Or did the hawk eye to eye thing happened upon discovering finding out about it.?! Smiley

So the original post by @CaraNua_music was on July 11th and I guess Twitter only shows the original post date (not the re-tweet date). Sorry, I'm still kind of new to Twitter.

Alex probably didn't re-tweet it until this morning (July 16th), which explains why we weren't aware of it until today.

If that's the case, I feel better (because I thought I was watching for Alex tweets like hawk and I was wondering how I could have possibly missed one of her tweets from earlier).

Alex, Lynn, and Edel!

Still in shock.

Wooooo!

Haha.

I usually check Twitter and Facebook quite frequently.

I've known since early July that something was up, just wasn't sure what it was.

I figured Alex would tell us as soon as she was ready, so I kept my eyes extra-peeled for any updates on Facebook and Twitter.

That being said, I actually read about it on the forum before I checked Twitter that morning. Hence my surprise.  Wink

I'm really curious if anyone here knew about CaraNua before Saturday (and was keeping it quiet for them).

I do find it a bit odd that aside from Alex's re-tweet and Edel liking one of the comments about CaraNua on Twitter, there hasn't been a great deal of chatter from the girls about this so far (before or after we found out about it on Saturday).

With a lot of the other big news from current and former CW members recently, there was some hints dropped in advance to build anticipation (Mairead Nesbitt's two big recent announcements being examples).

The delay between the original CaraNua post and Alex's re-tweet was a little puzzling as well, although I'm pretty confident it's related (at least in part) to Alex having other stuff on her plate at the moment.

Anyways, I'll keep watching eagerly for more info.

There we go, Alex was acknowledging some CaraNua-related Tweets this morning.   Cheesy

Brand new from Alex! Just got posted!

https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1162296093791367&id=212618112092508&substory_index=0

Hi Everyone!
Apologies for my absence on here and not responding to your personal messages, as many of you may have heard I have embarked on a very exciting and new venture with fellow Celtic Woman associates Lynn Hilary and Edel Murphy.

We've been working away for many months now and will continue to do so as we start our musical journey with CaraNua, this means my time is very focused on that and so I will not be able to engage with you as frequently as I would wish, that doesn't mean I'm disappearing only that things might slow down a little on here.

Thanks again for your continued support and friendship!

So here's a little more accurate information about CaraNua!!!

CaraNua | A Celebration of Celtic Music
We are 'CaraNua' - a unique celebration of Celtic Music brought to you by three of Ireland's leading Celtic voices;
Lynn Hilary, Alex Sharpe and Edel Murphy.

These former soloists from the hugely successful, world-famous Riverdance and Emmy-nominated Irish music sensation
Celtic Woman have joined together to bring you a Celtic Music Experience featuring well-loved old Irish classics along with more modern favourites in crystal-clear vocals and beautiful and unique harmonies.

Our love of Celtic music and the songs we have performed over the years is reflected in our repertoire which includes many of the fan-favourites from Celtic Woman - 'The Parting Glass', 'Danny Boy' and 'You Raise Me Up', to name just a few.

CaraNua is the first and only presentation from former members of Celtic Woman and Riverdance available to the corporate and private events sector, for functions, weddings, parties and more.

Alex says CaraNua means "New Friend."

I think they're going to make a lot of new friends.

As much as Edel's new debut is great to look forward to, Lynn on the spot again, it's actually Alex which I think I'm most thrilled,
super Excited about, even for more Irish material. Would this mean us hearing a Dulaman version she did be possible again in requests.  Grin
We had Lynn back for a while with CW again, so I can't wait to hear Alex do more Celtic song involvements!! :- )

I  guessed ... "The sky And The Dawn And The Sun..."

I haven't completely ruled out it being a re-arrangement from a song on a Celtic Woman or a solo album. The closest ones I could think of were Dulaman and Tier Abhaile Riu, but there are parts that sound quite different from those songs.

I went through some of the old Riverdance and Lord of the Dance stuff, but didn't find anything that was close to it.

It's a jig-type stop-and-go rhythm and while it really sounds familiar, it could just be it's reminding me of unrelated jigs.

I'm not familiar enough with Irish music outside of Celtic Woman to be of much more use though.

I'm 75% sure it's a song that hasn't been on an album of one of our CWuties before.
