Here's an article by Brian Passey from the The Spectrum & Daily News based on a phone interview with Tara.

Celtic Woman to bring its Christmas show to St. George

-- Article Spoilers Below --

Here's a summary of some of the key takeaways and my commentary:

Tara auditioned for Celtic Woman just before they started recording Voices of Angels.

So they didn't have her lined up and waiting as Mairead finished the North American leg of the Destiny tour. One might then speculate that Celtic Woman didn't have a lot of notice that DMairead was leaving, or else felt confident they could bring someone in on short notice.

Tara was given a lot of creative freedom in Voices of Angels to put her own stamp on the songs

That's excellent! What a great way to make a newcomer feel welcome and comfortable than to give them creative freedom. They did the same with Eabha and it worked spectacularly with her.

Tara's hopeful she'll be able to play harp and sing with Celtic Woman.

She did a great job playing the harp in the Destiny special/DVD and we know from her YouTube videos that she has an exceedingly pretty voice (one might say it's angelic ... quite appropriate for the upcoming tour).  Wink

Her favorite piece to perform so far is Across the World.

That's my favorite too. It's very much in the style of the Mairead Nesbitt classic slow/fast combos from earlier CW albums. In my opinion, it's a really fun song and does a great job of showing off Tara's energy, enthusiasm, and talent.
